New to the game!
Welcome to the GW2 community.
We are known for being a friendly community, but of course if you look for “toxic” people you will find it but in general no.
For starts, if you have any doubt, try to check the wiki 1st: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page , if you still have issues then post in the Player Helping Players sub-forum https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Welcome! A major part of the game that many people don’t get, especially those that come from games like WoW, is that you SHOULD NOT rush to level your character. Just explore the map and participate in events and you will level up with time. If you are the type that really loves grinding levels, you can do “hearts”.
EDIT: Also, they are going to fix the story (which is in bad shape since a previous update) and change some other things, so there will be some big changes when HoT comes out.

Welcome to the game! You’ll probably find a lot of former WoW players here, so you’re in good company. =P
While I didn’t leave WoW for the sub fee, I definitely like being in control of when I support the game with real life cash.
Welcome!
As above said, dont rush, enjoy the ride, there stickies in the forums with the most common question as well guides on some players signatures but dont feel afraid to ask, just remember to be polite and open minded
Second is abandon stereotypes (light classes must be healer, heavy classes tanks, medium dps blablabla) and you will save yourself from future frustration.
The rest have fun
Welcome! Number one tip: Don’t rush leveling to 80! This is the number one mistake people make that come from other games. Just take your time, explore, enjoy the game. Level 80 will be the same kind of stuff except you have more freedom of choice and access to more things but there is no kind of ‘rush to end-game to experience the fun stuff’ kind of grind thing.
If you take it easy and enjoy the world, maybe talk to NPC, look in nooks and crannies, and you’ll find it’s a lot more diverse and interesting than most other MMO’s with a lot of surprises and secrets waiting to be uncovered! and the best part you will gain xp and rewards for EVERYTHING! Have fun!
• Have you heard of the city? The ancient uru? Where there was power to write worlds •
Hey, I’d echo what people above have said and would encourage you to go find some jumping puzzles or minidungeons (you can find a list on gw2wiki I’d imagine and their names in the achievment panel), exploration and these fun extras really stand the game apart from other MMOs.
