Would you rather have new weapons or new skills for our current weapons. I ask because there always seems to be a skill or two that just isn’t useful on the weapon I am using.

The way new skills would work for our current weapons would be a click down with two or three choices to replace what you currently have.

New weapons personally. I’d rather see a large uplift in number of weapon types for variety and that would likely be much easier to balance than adding skills for exisiting weapons. I can see that being a nightmare to track and abalnce (given the insane headache GW1 caused the dev team)

Yea the balancing would be an issue and probably a good reason they have it restricted.

It’d be nice to see a large set of traits that changed specific skills on weapons. That’s the kind of customization I want out of the trait system. I’d rather see that then new weapon skills.
As such, my vote goes to new weapons.

I’d like more weapon choices, but as for the other option:

I wonder if they could just design skills that only fit into certain slots for each weapon? Then, each slot could just contain an attack that was equal in damage to the original, but look different to allow for more customization.

Ex) Staff Ele: Instead of throwing a fireball for 200 damage with attack 1, maybe it could look like a missile instead? Or be shaped like a Phoenix.

That might be hard with melee weapons though.

New skills for me. So you have an axe in your hands… choose the axe related skills you want to use with it… that sort of thing.

While I want new weapons it likely won’t achieve the results I’m after. I mean if they add javelin/spear/polearm to warrior chances are the meta will still be axe main hand. Most classes lack a lot of viability in a lot of their existing weapons because they significantly under perform.

I’d rather all weapons be as viable as each other rather than having dozens of different weapons but only 1 or 2 of them are viable like the current situation is, it’s disappointing.

Let us buy vendor mats (eg spools of thread) in 250 stacks, end the excessive clicking.

New weapons and existing weapons on characters that do not use them currently.

The whole point on using weapon is to keep skills in presets that work together to make balance easier.

As for changing the skills themselves, we have traits. They do not change skills radically, but they do change the skills.
