Will HoT add more new Elite Specs or is that saved for next Xpan?

I hope they put price tag of 100$ for basic package next expansion so they can profit more from whales and white knights.

As for us veterans, dont remove login rewards and we will be online here and there to support your population and core game.

Not a fan of the first expansion. Unless the new one is equivalent to Nightfall or at least Eye of the North, I won’t be participating. Still regretting purchasing HOT and its four maps.

The core game had 8 profession and several dozen maps. You want another $50-60 out of me? Pony up something comparable, not 4 maps, 1 profession, and 0 character slots.

Also, what is the BS about LS3? How many months has it been since HOT was released and all we’ve seen so far is rehashed content and gliding.

I said I was impressed there was a mention of legendaries. What exactly are you after?

The living world stuff was grindy, boring and unrewarding. The PvE content of the expansion was great. Loved the new elaborate events. The only disappoint was conquest which should have been WvW and more epic.

Sidenote: What where they thinking when they hard capped mastery making experience useless? I get unhappy when I lose my sense of progression. Passive Aggressively I stopped Rezzing Allies in PvE events because they is no benefit. Eventually used skills like knockback, pulls and “Search and Rescue” to dumped soft downed allies next to mobs to insure allies die.

can’t wait, hopefully it will be even more content packed than HoT now that there is supposedly no further need to work on core systems (i say supposedly because i most definitely would not say no to a beastiary feature or really any feature that could further expand on the lore)

No offense, but the first Expansion is incomplete still… The WvW overhaul that was promised with HoT has yet to be released… just saying, finish the first xpac’s contents before the second one, unless the price is going to be a fraction of HoTs.

Just as there’s a fractal team and a raid team. If anything they are still in the earliest stages of designing the next expansion.

Why would it be foolish to buy something if I’m enjoying the last thing I bought. See, it doesn’t matter to me if I don’t have all the legendaries, or all the raids. I don’t care about raids and legendaries are long term goals anyway.

I’ve gotten far more than my money’s worth from the current expansion, and I have no reason to believe I won’t get my money’s worth from the next expansion.

What we’re missing from the first expansion is the full raid, which I’m pretty sure they told us before release would be coming in sections anyway, and legendary weapons which I believe we were also told would be coming out along with the living world stuff.

However, since I’ve already gotten a couple of hundred hours of enjoyment out of HoT, it was well worth my $50.

You don’t call the … mishap … of what happen to WvW in HoT nothing? What we got was a half baked idea that they shipped before they were finished. It’s like the reset of your Fractal level because leaderboards were coming … oops.

And no, they aren’t zerg fests before HoT, I’m guessing you were never ran it with a proper command structure calling the shots. The new squad UI will help this a lot.

I’m glad to see someone here who says “I didn’t like it” as opposed to “HoT failed, everyone hates it, and its just terrible.”

See, there are many people, such as myself, who DID like it. I DO appreciate the opinions of those who don’t, and, who, like yourself, express it as an opinion as opposed to a fact. So kudos to you, sir. Tip of the hat.

None of GW1 expansions came out with 8 extra professions. Each had TWO extra professions, and extra skills for the other 6. This one had 1 extra profession, and elite specializations for the other 8. Honestly, I really do believe that, in the long run, it really is comparable, considering the systems involved.

I also think that a lot of HoT revolved around setting up the mechanisms for new systems: elite specializations, masteries, etc. These are things that GW1 did not do, although if you aren’t a fan of masteries, there isn’t much that can be said about that. Me, personally, I LOVE hang gliding.

That being the case, now that masteries and specializations have their mechanisms in place, I think it would be fair to expect more maps.

But as a side note, having played every expansion for GW1, I think the four maps in HoT weren’t unreasonable, because they were far more intricate than the maps for GW1. And with jumping, hang gliding, mushroom travel, and even a little underwater stuff, etc, there is far more to explore. GW1 was just runfesting.

That being said, I will fully admit that this time around I would like to see more pve content; even taking my time to savor the experience, it feels that there could have been a little more.

A. They are working on a lot of things, including fixing some things in WVW and HoT that they felt didn’t do what they wanted it to do, in addition to further wings of the raids, and

B. I don’t believe they never said precisely WHEN LS3 was coming, just that it was. I’m willing to admit I could be wrong on that, so if you can find a quote that disproves that, feel free. But even then, you need to remember, sometimes in video games date slip, and some things just can’t or don’t work out. I can’t recall how many times an expected for and well looked for video game or expansion was announced and slipped, sometimes several times, from its expected date. This really is nothing new to the industry, so no one should get all worked up over that – its normal for the industry, and ANET was nowhere near the first to have that happen.

Heck, it even happens with movies, and nongame software, and….

Eh, unless it added challenging solo content, ie hardmode zones or maps like fissure of woe/underworld I won’t buy an expansion. As far as pve is concerned this is primarily a pve game with some group so lets you know support the core mechanics of this game.

I’d love to see Cantha with tengu added as a playable race, but it won’t happen.

To be honest, I’m expecting the next expansion to add the Crystal Desert and the fight against Kralkatorrik, which doesn’t even need an entire army to succeed. After all, DE 1.0 and Glint almost made it, and they would have killed Kralk were it not for Logan’s absence. DE 2.0 is twice as big, and they might have a dragon on their side too.
