Next Expansion incoming?
Probably not until next Summer. But yes, I think we get a very good expansion if they put the effort into it like they did with Rising Flames. Anet is looking very promising after a very lackluster first episode. Let’s hope they continue trending up.
I hope they give us that solo play, as well as a variety of new weapon and armor skins. I think they would do well to get ready to move on to Cantha, but who knows.
Chances are we see something like Crystal Desert, Isles of Janthir, or the Far Shiverpeaks first. Which would all be welcome.
I do think they need to look back at GW1, see the things that people loved, and keep implementing them, even if they’re partially gem store items. Solo missions/quests etc. would be welcomed.
I am looking forward to an expansion notice as well, but remember- it took 8 living story episodes (9 if you could the zephyrite festival) to lead up to Heart of Thorns, and then a good few months afterwards before they even started unveiling all the elite specializations and new systems.

Since the game is so killing dragon focused, I doubt they bring in the next that quickly, GW2 still has plenty of life left, and they’d be wise to milk it.
As for “incoming”, MO addressed this in the recent AMA when asked about the following statements in NCSOFT’s conference call;
What we are planning to do going forward is that we are going to shorten the span for the next launch of the expansion pack. So right now we are in the phase for preparing for the 2nd expansion pack we ae going to shorten the launch timing between the different boxes that we launch to create more momentum.
MO’s response
Remember, NCSOFT is our parent company, but decisions about GW2 come from us. Don’t read too much into a one-off statement like that. Someday we’ll have a lot to talk about regarding the next expansion pack, but not today, and not any time soon.
