In my opinion, the backpiece makes the outfit. But most people in this game just use the fractal or the catcher backskins….
Could we get some new inventive backskins that aren’t plants or anything remotely in the shape of wings? Thanks!!!

The only wings my wardrobe has are the two holographic dragon styles that I don’t use anymore due to other interests.

More back skins (options!) to choose from are always a good thing!

My sylvari ranger almost always has his Toxic Spore floating over his shoulder.

Call me silly, but I think it even seems to “reflect” a bit of color from his shoulder piece as well. Helps to make it match with everything. Or maybe it’s my poor, tired eyes playing tricks on me. :p

I once told a friend of mine that all asura should come with a Zephyrite Backpack skin. Ever since the wardrobe arrived, all of mine can wear it!

My thief looks like a little sand person (Jawa) in his Hexed Outfit and Zephyrite Backpack.

What I wouldn’t give for a real skritt thief backpack (honorary or not), or a “roll your own” pack that lets you pick and choose the bits that are bound together in it.

Make Ghost-Eater’s Hide give players a ghostly glow like the Ascalon ghosts have.

Some of the crafted profession back items look really nice, if you are looking for some kind of traditional back item (backpack). There’s (ascended) quivers and books you can craft at the mystic forge, some complicated mechanisms from former living story episodes that will make you the envy of every engineer around, and a good variety of plush quaggans and charr if you are into toys .

I’ve seen quite a few of the crafter back items around lately, but “nice” is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I’d rather stay with my flowers and plushies, they look much more comfortable to carry around than all the crates and boxes the crafters have with them.

I use the spirit backpack on my guardian. My guildies says it looks like a toilet :P

Oh yeah! I forgot about the magic floating chest behind my warrior’s back from his Armorsmithing crafting discipline. Almost as cool as the magic metal floating bull-head-oven thing from his (Ambrosial) Chef crafting discipline.

I’ve always wanted a cloak/cape/mantle to make my guardian look more heroic.

I personally hate the backpacks. Please a cape would be much better.

I actually forgot to mention how many boxes we have as backskins… I don’t like big clunky boxes coming out of my back… Sab backskins, most of the crafting backskins and the spirit backskin are all boxes…. What I would give for a scarf or a cloak!!. The God backpieces are all nice as well.

I dunno about you, but I see a HUGE variety in the backpieces people wear. I do see the Fractals backpiece often, yes, (along with the Dwayna backpiece. That one seems to be much more popular than the other God backpieces), but I also see some wearing the crafter backpieces, some wearing the wings, a lot of Sylvari use the Fervid Censer (mine does!)/Southsun Rose/Mawdrey, a lot of “warrior” types tend to wear the Spinal Blades, and the Zephyrite Backpack seems to be very popular (especially in WvW, for some reason I can’t fathom).

+1 this. I almost thought that they give something in WvW because they almost all uses it

I’d love to see for once first that Anet stops the discontinued Back Items.

We have a Light of Dwayna.
We have a Shadow of Grenth
We have a Chaos of Lyssa
We have a Fires of Balthazar

So where the heck are for example the Back Items:

Spirits of Melandru and Truths of Kormir ???

I think the current Season 2 should offer a good place to come up with the last missing 2 ones

Despite those missing ones, I would love to have a real long Scarf, one that floats in the Air behind me, while running around. Something like this:
