Nickname change comming with the 28th patch?
I doubt it. They would have made some specific fanfare about it in the update announcement, since it’s such a highly-requested feature.
Nickname meaning character name and not account name, right? Then no. There have been a couple threads this past week or two popping up asking if or when this will be implemented. Gaile, among other Anet employees, has stated that though it will be in the game at some point, there is no timeframe for it at this current point.
Hopefully soon though! My newly female (used to be male) elementalist does not enjoy her very male name haha.

I seem to have missed those threads. Do you have a link to somewhere the “no timeframe” comment was posted? That’s pretty alarming, given that immediately after they implemented the makeover kits they strongly implied we could expect character renames soon after.
