No Halloween Nodes / Doors in Core Tyria?
I did my Dailies last night and didn’t see a single Candy Corn node or Door in the landscape. Did Anet forget to flip that switch?
I didn’t either, and I went looking for them in the suggested locations found in the wiki. So far I’ve only found them in Lion’s Arch.

Your skin will wrinkle and your youth will fade, but your soul is endless.
I found one rich candy node on the way to Caudicus manor on the first day before reset. Other than that, nothing.
The candy corn nodes are out there, but perhaps rarer than they were before. I also ran into a door on Gendarren Fields. They exist, but perhaps less common. Keep looking and you’ll find one.
I wonder why they made the frequency of them happening so low? It doesn’t feel like Halloween
The doors, according to wiki, were only in Queensdale, Gendarren and Kessex. They may have removed the doors because of the free to play accounts. Perhaps it’s because you can get into Lions Arch from the Labyrinth and Lion’s Arch is normally barred to f2p until level 35.
The nodes might have been nerfed for 2 reasons. One, supply is already very high and two, to give people another reason to go into the labyrinth.
ANet may give it to you.

You can’t enter LA from the Labyrinth on a P4F account unless you are L35+ (You get a message saying entry is barred). I found a Rich Candy Corn node underwater in Gendarran? Probably, as I was doing Doors there. I’ve seen no Doors in Queensdale.
I definetely saw a door in Gendarran fields today, several while I was checking a vendor there.
Well if f2p is still barred from getting into LA below level 35 then it makes even less sense to remove the doors from the Queensdale map. Are the doors still showing up in Kessex, a 15-25 level map? So far I’ve only seen people saying Gendarren, a 25-35 level map. At this point I can only think they want to discourage low level chars from getting into the Labyrinth, especially on f2p accounts.

It seems to me that plenty of people always run the Labyrinth – not sure why they would need to encourage people to do so. However some people still do Dailies and I like to see Halloween interactibles out in the wild. I miss always seeing a door off in the distance on a regular basis. I wonder if they will nerf presents at Wintersday as well.
I didn’t remember that the doors were only in low level maps. I wonder why?
They did a wintersday presents nerf just last year. The home-node trees no longer drop the giant gifts, only the small ones. Not to mention that what is in the gifts is more limited (no gathering tools, wooly garments, etc).
After reading another post about a f2p player who got into the labyrinth and didn’t know how to leave it occured to me that this might be the reason. The portal leads to LA and that is blocked to f2p below level 35. WvW is blocked until they have a level 60. They might not have a guild or the guild might not have a guild hall so they might be blocked that way. That leaves PvP and if they are low level they might not know that they can leave from the PvP lobby, how to get there or how to leave once they do. Plus restrictions on map chat and whisper might mean they can’t speak to anyone to ask or if they do ask those people don’t know either. So maybe it’s because of the possibility of players getting stuck in the labyrinth that low level maps don’t have doors.

Weirdly, I went to farm platinum in Sparkfly Fen last night and there seemed to be loads of candy nodes. It was a bit annoying hehe.
I have not seen any doors

You think that was strange I encountered someone who just rolled an account in Ember Bay who had used a TP to friend. Somehow they did not have any waypoints in central tyria (I am guessing they did it while the initial intro was playing). Unfortunately they logged out while a couple of us were trying to figure out what they could do.
