It would have been nice to have a Mac beta as well for the WvW Stress Test.

Will you be testing the Mac version at some point? There’s been so much bugs on Mac with the regular game it might be worth having Mac tests for the expansion.

Thanks

I don’t think using a Mac prevents anyone from entering any betas as long as they are invited or eligible.

The mac client is just the windows client with cider (a software that allows windows games to run on mac)

So there should be no problems beside the typical Mac client ones.

What I mean is that for today’s WvW stress test you get invited to a download link where there is only a windows version available.

So Anet:
Considering that I bought the expansion to access the beta and that you’ve sent me an invitation to a client I cannot even use it is quite disappointing. You should have mentioned when selling the pre-orders that the beta trials were on windows only.

Anyway,

Anyway,

You pre-purchase have nothing to do with if you got invited to the wvw stress test, anyone with an active game account could get picked for the wvw stress test, even if they didn’t pre-purchase HoT yet, the only thing pre-purchase did in taht regard was ensure you access to weekend beta events, which will happen in the main game client, no additional download needed for that, so you should be safe with mac for that

Your existing client should work.

If you find that it isn’t, you can also try switching out the gw2.exe file that is contained in the Guild Wars 2.app content tree for the one provided in the link from the invite.

Beta, Character Select/Create, Enhanced Squad UI, Play for Free, Raids, Streaming Client, & Mac

Anyone know if mac users can actually participate in the stress test? Tried downloading the client like they instructed but I can’t open it

There are threads (with Dev posts) over in WvW (probably the test sub-forum) and the Support sub-forums about the Mac client for the test.

(You could also just look through the Dev Tracker.)

Good luck.
