Seriously, there have been nada-zero-zilch-zip permanent hair stylist contracts in the trading post for AGES.

I understand Anet wants to keep it rare, that’s fine, but really? So rare to the point that there’s been none in supply for months, and the fact that the highest buy offer has reached 2,550 gold – up there with the price of legendary greatswords? Come on now…

It’s ridiculous. I think there should be more in supply, equal to the amount of the others.

Can Anet confirm you can even get them from the black lion chests? Because I haven’t heard of a single player getting one.

My friend got one a year and a half ago inside a wintersday present. He sold it for 250g AT the time

It’s so weird that the other permanent contracts have decent supply and demand, yet the permanent hair contracts supply are just non existent. If the rates of getting them are the same as other contracts from the black lion chests, perhaps someone is hoarding them all?

Though I checked GW2Spidy and it doesn’t seem like anyone has, so I really don’t understand why there’s 0 in supply, especially if it’s true that it’s the same rate as the other contracts

My best guess is that they only dropped during that very first wintersday… I watched that number this last go around and there was no joy in it, so my guess is that it’s gone the way of the Mystic Forge Conduit (personal permanent mystic forge node)…you were there and you got it, or you missed it with the rest of us

No they’re available from the BL chests at all times, they are just a insanely greedy cash grab rare item drop.

If I got one, I would not sell it. But keys are very rare and getting anything of any worth is even rarer.

To be fair, that item is ridiculously rare, though. And it has a lot of utility in the way of cost reduction.

Given the game is cosmetic, having an item that allows you to change your hair for free at will at any time to match your look, is pretty OP.

I’m all for cosmetic stuff and I’d probably like to have one of these items, and I’ve been watching it get closer to the top of the super expensive list. Its a bit of fun. The tone of the thread, though, is just a tad over the top for something cosmetic.

Plus I’ve had a kittenty day. With all the loss on the forums at the moment this tipped me over the edge. Sorry all for snapping.

2,000+ gold is a worthy cost for this rare item, since all new hairstyles will continue to be added onto it. Also for the fact that you can use the exclusive colors AND change the ears of sylvari and asura characters. All for free, as many times as you like.

I know someone who got theirs from opening a black lion chest, so they can still drop.

But if ArenaNet ever decides to get rid of black lion key farming, the chances of ever seeing at least 1 in the trading post will be so slim.. might as well say 0. There’s people who would use theirs right away too, so I’m not surprised one hasn’t been displayed in the trading post for months.

Would be nice if they included them in future RNG boxes, like the one it came with during Wintersday. Selling it straight away without RNG in the gemstore with a high gem price would be even more nice.

But at this rate it’s just taking up a space with the legendary weapons. If they do not want to add this item into the game they should just stop buy and sell orders for the permanent hair stylist contract and leave it in the game for those who have one.
