Is it a bug or by design that the Labyrinth is not granting any XP?

Bug.

They said that it’s not possible for them to go in and change it now, unfortunately.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

You can level characters to 80 in the labyrinth. That is how I leveled my Revenant.

You do not gain mastery experience due to a bug.

To add to this, WvW is in the mists too, yet you can still build mastery xp there as well.

So…its not an excuse.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Go ahead and keep living in your little fantasy world where Anet only wants what’s best for the players as opposed to their investors and their own bank account.

Oh, sure they want what is best for them. But outright lying never is best for anyone. Stuff like that comes out. All it needs is one disgruntled employee and a copy of the order to lie for it to blow up in their face.

As Benjamin Franklin said, “three men can keep a secret, if two of them are dead.” There are a lot of people working over there and not all can be happy with their job at all times.

But since you liked my first picture, have another, free.

Wow, someone important from a time and society long past and gone said something that was factual in an age of morality that is long past. Big deal.

One of these days human nature is going to broadside you out of nowhere and leave you reeling from the truth.

If you think that people will keep a juicy bit of information about their job behind their teeth when theyre angry, then you don’t know as much about human nature as you think.

This is why I’m cynical of the entire thing.

They say it’s dangerous to try enable mastery experience gain in a Halloween instance yet all the other instances work fine. If all instances were affected I could believe it but since it’s only the Halloween one I think it was intended to be that way to extend the life of the HOT content.

I’m going to take them at their word that it’s a bug. How potentially dangerous it is to try and fix depends solely on how stringy their code is. I get the distinct impression it’s very stringy, which yeah, could make trying to hunt down that bug not only time consuming but it could also potentially screw up our ability to partake of the Halloween events. I’m not precisely pleased about it, but it’s not the end of the world.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.
