No collectors edition / phys items :(
Highly unlikely. They have already said they is no boxed edition. Boxed editions are expensive, what with distribution and retail costs. Digital is very much the way forward with the industry and much more so with expacs as more and more MMO’s go the way of download only expacs and DLC.
They have already announced their 3 deals, I can’t see a scenario where they’d announce a fourth at a different time. That wouldn’t make sense, especially as a CE with items requires early planning and would need to have been announced by now.
They must have changed their minds recently, because I clearly remember them saying that there would be a physical copy of the game. As someone who bought the $150 version when it came out, I was hoping for any physical goodies. Or at least something besides a gem sale for the ultimate edition.
I was also worried since now my internet provider has changed to the speed of snail. I was banking on using a disk for the majority of the installation, 0.128 MB/s means it’ll be 2-3 days before I’m able to enjoy the expac (assuming I’m willing the shell out the overpriced $50+ for it)
Highly unlikely. They have already said they is no boxed edition.
There will be boxed versions available starting June 23rd:

Can I pre-purchase through my favorite retailer?
Yes. Starting on June 23, 2015, you’ll be able to pre-purchase boxed and digital editions of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns from our official retail partners.
As for a boxed CE edition, from the same FAQ link they have stated they have no plans to offer one.
Is there a physical collector’s edition planned for Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns?
There are no plans for a physical collector’s edition for Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. Heart of Thorns will be offered in Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions (all of which are available for pre-purchase and include digital in-game bonuses only).

My bad. It wasnt listed on the options they said was definitive and I misread the dev post about it.
I believe ANET deserves the muuuuula (money) for all the free content you have given us in the past. But I don’t care how much it costs; I want a version with physical figure, art, etc. Like in GW2 Vanilla.
Just confirm me if you are not gonna make it, so I can just buy the best version for me.
Not offering a physical product also means that they’re not restricted by it. Normally, there’d be a guaranteed ~3 month window to account for production, shipments, retailers, etc. By being entirely digital however, they could actually release at any moment. It’s just a large patch.

It’s not entirely digital.. luckily, but ‘no plans’ for CE however. Well they have until 23 to change their mind and come up with those plants, if they don’t have anything announced by then I don’t expect anything to come anymore.

I was hoping for another faq’s page change I guess…
Oh well, hopefully they add some physical items later.
