scratch spvp out of that list, you can do it at level 1.
we have to do things others may qualify as “evil”.

You can also do WvW starting at level 1.
@OP: look for new weekly…er.. monthly content. This month: return to the Super Adventure Box.

There;s a difference between lack of direction and hand holding.
The biggest problem with GW2 (besides no group content) is that there’s no character progression… you have all your weapon skills nearly immediately, all of your skills and traits by like what… 30 or so? So for 5 levels its nothing but slogging through the same stuff doing the same hting with no progression.
Players are zombies by the time they hit 80 because they desperately want something to change… that’s the whole point of end game in games, which GW2 lacks.

What “no group content” are we talking about? Explorables and Fractals are 5-man. My guild is doing both of those with 4 of us.
SPvP and WvW were designed in a way that allowed players to enter at level one, so that no one would have to “wait for the fun to begin”, which is how it was advertised before release.
Orr zones have group events, often see Guilds tackling those.
The game is working as advertised. If there is a need to change that (and I have no problem with more options), then a new thread in the suggestions forum would be appropriate.
The game has many constituencies. It started as no gear progression and moved to add Ascended (which has angered some of those constituencies from Nov, through this latest release – you can find multiple threads regarding this.) There have been constant posts/threads from various players advocating more WoW-clone playstyle and just as many as those opposed.

THAT is a totally different discussion than: I have no clue what to do with the content that is there.
This is the result of having no “grind” or “treadmill”. You have to make your own fun. The game provides the tools, but offers no real incentive. The incentive has to be that the experience itself is fun. The moment running the dungeon for the 100th time becomes boring, you’ve lost PvE completely from the list of options of what to do. The moment WvW becomes boring to you, you’ve lost that completely from the list of options of what to do.
Grinds and treadmills will give you extra incentive to keep playing something that isn’t necessarily as fun as it used to be. If the gameplay itself was good enough to keep people interested for a very long time, this game wouldn’t have any leveling. However, that’s obviously not the case. You need advancement. That’s why there is a leveling period. It gives you incentive to keep playing your character even when certain tasks get boring.
Here is what I did. Go to Orr and visit each of the green karma vendors to get a set of greens. Then run the dungeon AC till you have a full set of pvt gear.
Here is what I did for my family who is kind enough to play with me. Pulled out my visa and bought them each a full set of power/precision/crit damage gear.
Here is what I just did for my fresh 80 guardian. Took him to the wvwvs eternal battlegrounds and got him a full set of exotics from the pvp token vendor there. If you have 400 AP you should have enough. edit 4000
After making six 80’s I kind of regret not taking the time to become really good at one of them. So imo that is what the game is about. Mastering your class in every situation. You can spend hours and hours doing that. Unless I just suck :p

Face it, this is the game Anet has provided. If the above listed content doesn’t interest you, and saying that isn’t a knock against you or your likes, perhaps a new game is in order?
I have had the game since pre-release, I left it for about 6 months and recently returned. I don’t like much of the “end game”, but what do I expect for $59 right?
Wouldn’t have been bad if the game was more like GW1 which I played straight for 2.5 years from release, but other gamers did not like GW1. We all have our preferences.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Is it just me or does this game lack any direction once you hit 80? Dungeons are hard to find a group to learn them in (newbie unfriendly). There is no set line to take to get better Armour outside dungeon grinding? Grouping seems non existent for world events now the clockwork events are down.
Is there any guides on what to do now? I can’t find any. Hitting level 80 seems like game over so far.
after you get your dungeon armor and weapon, it pretty much is game over.
Ascended gear is just a pointless brain-dead grind with no purpose at all. This game was great when it first came out, now it’s a pointless grind without purpose.
I wonder if Anet really expects me to grind that ugly as all-hell ascended greatsword after I dropped 200g in trying to get a dusk in mystic forge a few months ago before this update was announced.
Game is a bad joke.

I think some of the things wrong i have found with this game is the skill ceiling – for someone new trying to get involved with things it is very hard IMO.
I love dungeons the most in MMO’s – i’ve only been able to find 2 groups that will take me, and that’s only since i’ve hit level 80. This is mostly due to being new – i have no idea what to do and, unlike wow etc (basically all other mmo’s) there is no early game dungeons to prepare you – yes there are story modes, but outside any of your guilds has anyone found a party for that (only 1 party managed to get running in 2 months in an active 250 player guild) – i’ve never had a reply from gwlfg for story modes.
I don’t know how this game wasn’t shipped with a lfg finder – that would make it so much easier to get world events etc running – oh and on the orr events, on my server no one does them – it is dead.
