My /age is ~745 hours, played since headstart.

And to those who have had a pre-cursor drop, if you remember, what was your /age at the time?

There are people with 5k + that never had a precursor you are not even at 1k

1000 hours, + headstart, never seen a preq.

I am getting close to 7500 hours without a precursor drop (only have some from mystic forging tons of rares and exotics)

3.3k hours, no pre from drops or mystic forge.

I’ve had 8,772 hours. No drop.

Like 1230h or so.

Despite having all the gifts ready for the legendary am going for: Across all characters, you have played for 6,365 hours and 44 minutes over the past 747 days. Still not any precursor drop. Somewhat inclined to take all of my gold that I’ve saved up, buying exotics and trying to coax Zomorros into giving me one, anyone. Precursor prices rise faster than I can get gold LOLOL

Just shy of 3k hours. Played since beta. My partner who plays right beside me has also played since beta and neither of us have ever seen a precursor drop.

I never even saw a presursor drop for anyone and I’ve played 3000+hours since beta.

2891 hours, had my first precursor a couple of days ago. I got the bard out of a champ pouch. However after being informed of all the other expensive things i will need not sure if i will ever make a legendary, precursors dont seem that expensive in comparison.. Also i never play the mystic toliet lottery, dont see a point in wasting gold.

4K, no dropped pre. 2 at mystic forges from random level 70 rares, spent about 150k dungeon tokens and got none.

2522 hours no precursor.

3.2k hours, most of my dungeon tokens in the forge and quite some gold, haven’t seen a pre yet.

2095h didn’t get more than 10 exotics to be honest.

I got Dusk on my last of playing. But I ‘knew’ it wouldn’t keep me in the game, just wasn’t interested, so I sold it in case you know what happens. Until then, my gold is idle.

No precursor drop, but so far I’ve gotten 5 ascended drops outside of fractals (four weapon boxes and one ring). I’m absolutely fine with this. When I finally do get a precursor drop it’s going to feel epic. If it were more common, I can’t imagine that the sense of luck/accomplishment would be the same.

I’ve tried my hand at the forge too, and haven’t had any luck there either. So I spent months saving gold and bought a pre. I thought having to outright buy one as a last resort wouldn’t feel epic, but it did. It was so much work and self restraint to save up that much gold, and aside from looking cool and making loud pewpew sounds, the predator is a monument to countless hours spent working towards one long term goal.

First time checking /age (that I can remember)so I can’t share with you my age per drop, but I can say I never got a precursor within the first year. So far I have got three precursors- Leaf of Kudzu, Chaos gun, and Storm.

I have done the same method since launch pretty much; world boss farm for reset, all rares go in bank til I have four of the same weapon type, and I dump them in the Mystic Forge. I mix & match water weapons.

Maw gave me my most recent one Storm.

I’ve played for just over 2,000 hours since launch and not had one drop.

In my case it’s not entirely surprising since I spend a lot of time playing on low level alts, and I rarely do world bosses, dungeons or other things that apparently have an increased chance of dropping a precursor.

On the other hand it took me just 7 months, playing normally about 2-3 hours a day (and selling everything I didn’t actually want in my bank) to buy The Lover.

4.5k-ish hours in roughly 2 years, none. Haven’t tried with mystic forge tho.

4k hours, no precursor, best drop was like 15g worth…

About 2.5k hours over about 550-600 days and I have had one precursor drop. My /age then couldn’t have been over 500 hours. I hope you all get a pre soon with all the hours some of you have put in!

2684 hours, no precurser. Best drops I have had is Pyre from a BLC and an ascended box. Other than that, my biggest drops have been in the 15g range, and those have been few (4 or 5).

4498 hours, no precursors. I don’t do the Forge or the champ trains, though, and some of those hours went to RP.

I’ve seen two guildies get precursors. One was in the first karka ancient kill (in game, not in the make-up mail), and one was in the last year while killing trash spiders on the way to the spike traps with Detha in AC. Karka gave the GS precursor, spider gave the mace precursor.

I do rarely get an exotic or something unusual (I’ve had some luck with dyes) but I would not consider my account to be anywhere near one of the “blessed” ones.

Just hitting 1,800 hours, no pre…

Got it from a random payer drop in WvW.

1 Pre drop from random karka mob during the Southsun Cove event over a year ago, during Season 1 of the Living Story.

More than 2900, less than 3000 hours. Not a single precursor drop. Still waiting for the supposed precursor crafting update.

In another thread when I was telling a new player about GW2…

I mentioned that, this game rewards people with big pockets as in, if your rich and buy gems you get the best gear in the game.

However traditionally MMORPGs are the other way as in, those who played for a long time and actually play the game, get the best gear in the game and being rich wont make you the best player in the game.

I been playing for a long time too, hardly have a full set of exotics and not even a legendary and no precursor drop ever as well.

I saw a thread on grinding for a mini, funny thing was… Why grind for that when you can grind gold faster another way and buy the mini rather than letting RNG play its thing, because like many of you guys, RNG isn’t very nice and grinding for a mini is a waste of time when you can be doing another grind that gets you the gold to buy it and possibly buy another one from all those hours spent.

3094 hours, no precursor drop or acquisition by any other means other than someone gifting me ToFf after I had all the other parts.

2.33K hours, no precursor.

if you are trying to find a link between the account age and preq drop i have to give you a bad bad bad news, a guild mate after 3 days of play so 72 hours of game in total hi get a precursor from a mob in queensdale.. now you can riot as you want...rage quit ftw
oh ya, i have to say, another guildmate drop from misticforge almost 20 precursor in 2 months..
now you can set on fire your pc and smash it on the ground :P

2409 hrs never had a drop. one from MF after (i’m sure) throwing in more rares and exos than the thing was worth.

Can’t remember clearly, but I think had somewhere around 3.5k hours before I received a Zap from a champ bag in CoF. That was 2 days before 2013 ended.

On my main of course. ;)

3k+ hours since beta, I must not be playing in the places that they drop. Why are precursors so insanely hard to get? It’s just an exotic like all the others, so what if it has a recipe for combining it with other random stuff and you get a legendary, there’s nothing truly special about those either…

Dawn & Rodgort’s Flame dropped think around when i had about 5k hours.. before the great dungeon changes i think.. but since then nothing as drop.

4,355 hours since beta. No Precursor drop.

I got twilight recently, but I had to buy my pre after grinding gold for a hell of a long time. Had gifts of mastery, fortune, and Twilight for months. But no drop. Needless to say I was super sad.

For a “skill based game” superior rewards are super based on RNG.

6,806 hours – no precursors.

RNG is RNG, doesn’t matter how old the account is. I’ve seen a guy in his third day playing dropping a precursor inside the Tower of Nightmares.

If the scavenging hunt is a no go, I’d personally like an increased chance as the account gets old to drop a precursor, if none have before, as an one time thing. After you get your precursor, back to the ‘horrible’ normal RNG pool.

Playing since headstart (7296 hours / 842 days) and got my first from the forge (The Legend) at ~6200 hours / 596 days old.

So 4 days ago I log in after a bit of a break and decide to pop some champ bags. I open about 40 or so and find the Leaf of Kudzu sitting there. Accout age at drop – 837 days.

I made Bifrost with my first drop but sold Leaf of Kudzu for some welcome gold.

3482 hrs/ 604 days.
2 precursors first was Storm it was this year early spring i think and second one The Colossus last week.
Both gotten from WvW kills on my war whit 2762 hrs. +115k kills.
Think Both drops were from Kodash.

Made both to gold because Legendarys are useless junk.

The rates are pretty disturbing, especially when you consider how many people farm champion boxes for hours every day and still don’t receive precursors.

I mean I know they’re pretty much just a visual trophy, but still

Never seen a pre drop, or in the party. None out of forge either. Never seen a Giant Eye, fractal skin, or a Teq hoard either. Two ascended chests, both in the last two months. Horrible RNG for everything has spoilt many aspects of the game for me.

A guildie has 8 legendaries. All from drops.

Even if I had the gold 20 times over I would not buy one from TP. As far as I’m concerned they don’t exist.

4k hours, almost all WvW, 70k kills, 9100 deaths, 12,767 objectives captured, 6500 yaks slapped, 3100 yaks escorted, and 2020 rank up chests later, no precursors.

Got 1 drop, at 5600 hrs, killling dredge in dredghaunt cliffs. Pure luck I guess, not even a veteran. It was the pre to the Moot but I hate the discoball on a stick so i sold it, 315 gold net. 350 on Tp. sold it withing a day, bought mats to an ascended armor piece for it.
