No ingame directions for legendaries
Totally agree with you there. I often wondered “Without wiki and dulfy, how on earth should I have known this??”. Maybe it is some cunning move to increase the wiki’s popularity?
It’s more like trying to not bloat the game file. Like every MMO. If more info was included in game data, you have to think how much is relevant to every player.
You can do things like this without the wiki, since players have to figure stuff out before a wiki page is created of it.
Anet has added many things to the game which they have left the community to discover / solve. This list includes legendary weapons, which were worked on by the community soon after launch.
What would be the best in-game method for Anet to implement so that the many recipe steps on Incinerator are better communicated to you?
Edit: If you’re wanting the true immersive side of things, you could go back to teasing out Zommoros’ secrets yourself. It will be a lot of trial and error, but that is the way that djinn works in-game.

A in game wiki would be cool.. like World of Warcraft has.
Tho mind the size of their game files..
Good points.
But i also think, acquiring a Legendary should not be an easy task. Its one of the things that make it more special i guess. The bloody grind you have to go through and all that.

Yeah, but guessing is way beyond hard.
I think they actually did this deliberately.
Before launch they had talked about legendary weapons as the ultimate example of horizontal progression – something which looks amazing and would take a lot of time and effort to obtain but which was no more powerful than other weapons in the game. And if I remember correctly they specifically mentioned having to figure out the process of making them as part of the challenge.
Early on there was a lot of discussion and rumours about what was involved and how much was universal vs. different for each weapon. Of course these days it’s all laid out on the Wiki, but that’s also down to players working it out and creating the articles.

Maybe they could let us obtain an interactive copy of Wikki’s Official Guide to Tyria?
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
A good example of this ‘let them figure it out’ was year before last during halloween 2015 when they added Nightfury, and no one knew how to make it. Reddit went crazy.
Yeah, but guessing is way beyond hard.
Haha true

Yeah, or an in game browser like steam, with Wiki.
