No inherent infusion on amulets. Oversight?

During the weekend some of us have been able to get their ascended amulets but it appears that there is no recipe in the mystic forge for infusing the item. This is not about the infusion that is placed to the slot, but the inherent one which grants another +5 AR. Is this working as intended or is the inherent infusion possibly an oversight devs forgot? I would guess an oversight since all previous asc items brought +10AR, but would really like to dev confirm this.

The reason I am asking this is that I already prepared for infusion of the amu with buying the mighty infusion that grants you +5 ar, +5 power. This infusion cost me quite close to 30g. Now, when we upgrade the rings and backpiece, it “creates a new item”, deleting the infusion being slotted in previously. If I used my costly infusion now and then later on they made the amulets infusable through MF I would lose my costly infusion or 5ar.

Knowledge is power. Pun intended.

Just put a +5 Simple infusion in there until they say one way or the other. People been asking since laurels and amulets were announced. =/

Wouldn’t it make sense that an item that is not found in FotM would have nothing to do with a FotM specific mechanic? If they want people with infused amulets, they can add them to FotM.

They will probably release a recipe for the mystic forge sometime in the future. I think they’re doing it this way now to cap progression in fractals.

I imagine they’ll be added eventually. There’s a sort of “progressive cap” (referred to above) for Fractals in that there’s a “max AR” you can achieve at any given point in the game’s lifespan, and ArenaNet definitely wants to keep this number in mind.

I will say this (though you won’t like it): the specialized infusions, the ones with AR and a stat boost, are literally the worst value of any item in the entire game. The mat/gold investment compared to stat increase is downright laughable, and pales in value to a 75 relic simple infusion.

In your case- even if they did add the infusion recipe to the game later- I’d just stick with that infusion since you spent so much on it, and try to make up the AR elsewhere.

Makes perfect sense. I imagine the eventual patch that adds infusion recipes for them would add them to the relic merchant in FotM.

It seems fractal cap is 40 atm so i guess they do not want ppl to have 40 AR (if that high enofe AR to get past 40 i do not know).

Main : Jski Imaginary ELE (Necromancer)
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)

Yes +5 power for 30gold is somewhat laughable. Looks-wise I’m satisfied with the gear I got and there’s not much else for me spend on, thus I will invest it gladly and will probably do so in the future too. It’s probably a sort of psychologial satisfaction of knowing that I have the maximum amount of attribute points and my character is thus as effective as possible, even if 5 power never made any practical difference.
