No items from mystic forge. Is this resonable?
Support has stated time and time again they cannot restore items.
They are finally adding a rollback feature but this is not the same as what WoW has.
And tbh i’m glad they can’t just give people items. If they set the precedence that you cannot ask them for items back it will keep the support lines in better shape than what they would be.
btw, threatening Anet by “going to every gaming site you know” isn’t going to do much. The game is amazing and bugs are bugs.
I’m pretty sure that they don’t do single item restores because they have to perform a rollback on your account so it’s a lot of bs to go through for one item. At least that’s what I think I saw said.
Anyway yea that really sucks and it’s a crappy bug but wow that’s pretty petty if you were having a blast and now this one thing happens and the game is now heading for the shelf. If that’s your mentality then sooner or later something would have happened to give you this sentiment anyway.
Things happen to us all, I’ve died in skyrim after hours of exploring around only to see my last autosave was from exiting the inn before I started. It sucks but it’s just a game suck it up and move forward. Or don’t I guess.
So, you lost your job, your wife left you, your kid’s in the hospital, your car got repo’d and your dog died? Geez man I really feel bad for you, life is tough like that sometimes but things will get better…
Wait, wrong browser, this isn’t an email from my cousin… so you lost some digital items because of a game bug? Sunnuvakitten. Life goes on.
I see.
So people feel it’s safe to invest time on something and when you loose it due to a bug, it’s resoanable to get no sort of support.
Makes sense.
Life is full of disappointments. It’s a game, you didn’t actually lose anything. I’ve put four items into the forge and gotten one of the items back. It’s a gamble and when you gamble sometimes you lose.
As for not getting items restored, it’s Arenanet’s game and Arenanet makes the rules. If you play their game you accept this. I accept it.

You lost like 20 silver worth of items to a bug that few, if any others, have had and are mad because ANet wont give you those items back. If it was a legendary weapon then you’d have my sympathy, but for what you lost I find it pointless to complain. I’ve spent several gold trying to win at the gambling center but you don’t see me complaining.
“I see.

Yea I do feel it’s reasonable, tell me where was my support after dumping a hundred hours into a single player game and my save file gets corrupted. Or while I’m playing diablo 2 and my connection goes out while I’m trying to transfer an item to my stash and it’s just gone.
Just cause there’s a staff working to improve the game doesn’t mean everyone gets a “oops I did a bad” button. Wow has that policy and because of it you have to wait for days before you get an automated message response. And several more days before you get to talk to a person.
I agree in general that I have to bite the bullet when I make a mistake myself. So far in all my years playing MMO’s I only had one incident where I accidentally sold my gear (in SWTOR) and I was pleasantly surprised to get a couple of items I remembered back.
However, not having experimented with the MF myself yet, do I understand this correct that there should always be a result – or is this wai to potentially gamble 4 items away?
If there should be some item coming out the other end – then I am of the opinion that the player should be compensated, not having done anything wrong.
Personally if this had happened to me I would not ragequit and I don’t quite agree with the tone of the OP, but it would definitely make me uneasy using the MF again. Since I plan on using this later on for dye’s and mini’s I would be upset if I lose some higher valuable mini’s due to a glitch.
No matter how important or non-important some perceive this particular issue, it would be nice to get some sort of an answer/reassurement regarding this functionality.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
Yes this happens and is expected and for a small gem fee they will retrieve your stuff.
Just kidding Lol.
It is a bug. been there for a while unfortunately. It can eat your stuff – thought there was a sticky somewhere maybe on reddit?
Sorry – I hope they can recover for you, but dont count on it because they cant roll back characters yet. They dont have the tech/people power like with the exploiters self deleting.
They should add a warning of some sort or be like any game I’ve played so far (hell, even Aion had that) and just restore those items. Servers should keep track.
Aion is trully free. Free to get and free to play and it still has a better support?
Comming from a company like Arenanet, I was expecting something more of “we can’t do it right now, but we are creating a system to do it” and not a “well, it is a bug, we know it, sorry. gg”.
It’s stated that the Mystic Forge can give you nothing. Do your research next time and stop wasting support’s time!
here is a little secret about the mystic forge some may not know
it is 99.9% RNG
“like lottery or slot machine”
some will play some will not
If it’s normal to not receive something fine. Part of the gambling then
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
The sense of entitledment and importance of people playing this game is staggering. You used the gambling mechanism that is the Mystic Forge and lost, like is explained you can, and proceeded to not only bother Anet’s support, people reading these forums but also think every gaming news site you know have any interest in it. How do you people actually manage to go about your day?
However, MF rewarded me NOTHING.
MF as in motherkittener?
