No more Junk items
I’d prefer that they don’t remove another way for characters to make money. The junk items aren’t worth a whole lot individually but that stuff can add up.
Enemies can drop coin already. And every time i get a junk item, part of me thinks I could’ve gotten something useful instead if junk items weren’t a thing.
I agree with the topic. Junk items either need to have a purpose beside just vendor trash or need to be removed entirely (they could just have enemies drop more coin in exchange for this).
I prefer they keep Trophies, in the hope that Nick’s descendant will one day appear.
Also, I prefer to get a tangible item, rather than something I don’t notice.
Their purpose is to fill up your bags and drive you towards a merchant, particularly at low levels. It’s a small thing, but it does fill a gameplay purpose.
By this logic pretty much every drop is junk. White-Greens are junk, as their only purpose(once you reached lvl 80) is to recycle them… bags are junk, as their only purpose is to open them… summarized: gw2’s rewardsystem is a dissatisfying and inventoryspaceconsuming clickfest Well, at least we should be happy to have AoE-lootpicking and not degradeable kits ^^
I started collecting spikes in wvw with friend. We were trying to see who could get a stack first and It actually became quite competitive. I was actually happy if I got spikes because it got me closer to the goal of beating my friend.
People make their own fun…

Junk items bother me too. Not equipment that just happens to be no good for your character, but the actual junk. (The grey text items that go into oiled bags.)
There is absolutely no purpose to it except to sell it to a merchant so I don’t understand why they don’t just skip a step and add the few copper you get from it to the money enemies already drop.

Hopefully ANet adds collectors into GW2, give some other value for junk items…
Of course, to ensure the junk doesn’t become expensive stuff, it’d better to stay soulbound or become account bound…
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.

Yepp .. they are a source of income and a gold sink at the same time.
What do you people that want to get rid of them think if they say : Ok we remove them
but for that we also remove 2 bag slots ?
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I wouldn’t like them to get rid of them and just turn it into some instant reward, that’s horrible! Silly as it may sound, junk items are a kind of flavour item. GW2 being an RPG, small stuff like that serves to define the setting and atmosphere. When you kill a bandit, you sometimes get a broken lockpick. When you kill a wolf, a broken fang or patch of fur. Sometimes it makes less sense! Perhaps you kill a corrupt Ministry Guard in that Harathi event, and he leaves a lockpick! How did he get it? Was he a former bandit? If so, was he a White Mantle affiliated bandit perhaps? Or did he merely take it from a bandit he arrested/killed recently?
