The fact that this item is going for legendary weapon prices is ridiculous. All its other counterparts (bank/trading post/merchant express) are nowhere near as pricy – BECAUSE YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET THEM!!!

You virtually can’t get them anymore. You might as well call this a discontinued item. Anet, can you tell us if you are looking into this? I don’t understand how one of the four permanent contracts can be favoured so much to the point where, because of the lack of supply, it’s obtained legendary status in terms of its price. Is something going to be done about it? Are we EVER going to see them on the trading post again? Or are we all just going to have to move on and know that this item will never be obtainable again?

Who the hell would sell that thing? You’re not considering that most people would keep it if they got one.

The first reply after that post pretty much explains it completely…

They do not come from Black Lion Chests. They only came from the Wintersday Mystery Boxes. Those boxes were only available during the first Wintersday.

So… wait until the next Wintersday?

Except there’s no guarantee those boxes will be back next Wintersday, given that they weren’t present at the last one.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

I wonder when MMO developers will learn that having discontinued, tradable items for the first few holidays is a horrendous and economy breaking decision.

True, but we currently have a few people grouching about how their poor “prestigious”, was-only-supposed-to-exist-in-that-event-why-should-other-people-have-fun skins being re-released, so there is precedence that Anet isn’t adverse to recycling.

Anet also put the permanent entry ticket for the DR crafting/trainer/MF area up on the gem store a second time, a month before the Bazaar update (you’d think they would have put it out at the same time), so they aren’t adverse to releasing things that compete directly with consumable versions of the same item in the gem store.

I don’t doubt it’ll be released again, just a matter of when.

I think the actual question should be: Why is this the only Permanent Contract NOT in the Black Lion Chests?

Because people buy hairstyle kits from the gem store.

The others can be bought from the Gem Store too, so that’s not really an answer.

It depends…the more of those things around the less kits sold from gem store, I am sure all of you realize this.
