No need to rush to 80
I don’t like PvP. I’m not complaining either, only lvl 53 here.
I agree, although for different reasons. I haven’t even thought about doing WvW or any form of PVP yet. I’ve been focusing on the PVE content, taking my time with it and really enjoying it.
I spent about 5 hours just exploring Lions Arch because I was not only checking off all the points but actually exploring it, trying to climb random stuff (which lead to finding all 3 jump puzzles), talking to all the named NPCs, exploring the old flooded city and feeling nostalgic.
A lot of the people who have already hit level 80 and are now complaining that they’re bored would probably say it was a waste of time because I didn’t get any tangible reward for it, but it was fun and for me that’s the important thing.

I hit yesterday 80, took me 3 weeks, didn’t tried hard to get there. Thought it was quite easy to get plenty of XP in WvW, just run around in a large group taking camps and keeps in short order and one can level really fast there… but I did that not often and maybe not long enough. I am still exploring the world (I am now in level 60-70 zomes), doing sPvP (just reached Deer rank) and craft from time to time (haven’t reached 200 in any of the crafting professions yet), also still 20 levels of personal story ahead of me and I have done only 2 story mode dungeons so far. So even after I hit 80 it looks like I have still much to do.
I’m level 51 currently and amazed at how natural levels seem to come to me. I don’t even think about it and I end up inching my way towards 80.
It’s quite nice.
I just turned 60 with no rush at all to get to 80. I’ve tossed away anything that increases EXP, because whats the point? I haven’t rushed. I’ve just played and the levels just happen, too quickly for my taste to be honest. Did a DE and before I knew it, gained 1 &1/2 levels? What??? All I know is that as soon as I finish the map I’m on, I’m the perfect lvl to go on to the next. Pacing has been perfect, content wise. Just wish I could be in a zone a bit longer before going onto the next one.
I think when I played WOW back at release, it would take weeks to out-level a zone. In GW after a couple of nights, I’m through it. A little too fast.
a little too fast, i agree.
but thats the price to pay for “no grinding”.
the ride to “fresh” 80 is still well over 100h of focused gametime.
I suspect the levelling is also fast because level doesn’t really matter that much in this game. Especially when you consider you’re levelled to whatever area you’re in, so getting to max level doesn’t make everything easier so much as open up more oppertunities.

yeah, game is great really!
super fun action coop mass rpg!
i wonder where anet will take it.
not content wise necessarly, story wise! i wonder if ill take part in the fight! sporting
my server logo is cool, but id like some kind of ideology attached
to big week/month long server fights.
Its hard not to when the game spoonfeeds you XP every turn you take… I really wish leveling was slower in this game, I’m already at level 65…
Just think of every 5 levels as one real level. Every one inbetween doesn’t matter anyways due to level scaling, and even every 5th might not matter if there just isn’t a good trait 5 points away.
Aside from the trait you actually get weaker as you level, since you need more precision to maintain crit and say, you are 60 but you are still using 53 gear, and the content is tuned for 60 gear.

I feel the same way from time to time, but then I realize it really doesn’t matter for the most part. It isn’t like I’m running the risk of outleveling content or being unable to play with my friends. In this game, I just try to remind myself that level is just a number.
