Seems like every1 nowadays are running around in the same skin. When will anet stop with the money grabbing gems store and start getting serious with the game, before it becomes a baran. How about hurry up with some challenge raid content that actually require knowing the raid position like when to split and when to stack that also involve interrupting bosses skill that can wipe out a entire raid instead of the typically zerg till it drop.
Rewards will be skins that looks better, the higher tier you go.

Are you saying everyone is purchasing Gem Store armor? Or that no one is purchasing Gem Store armor? I believe some do, and some do not.

As for raids? I’m not interested in that kind of content, so I hope the Devs concentrate their efforts on something else.

The kind of progression I wanna see is new skills. With PvE the way it is, we’ve been doing the same thing over and over and over for the last 2 years.

Second that. There’s literally nothing to do for me anymore. The fact that there’s a gold wall behind everything doesn’t help. My latest dissappointment was Mawdrey… :I

It’s hard not to believe that anet only cares about money when all you get is living story and gem store items.

^ I think what they care too much about is eSports and balance. Looking at the new costume brawl skills that were on Halloween items, adding new skills certainly isn’t out of their capabilities.

But why don’t they do it? Who knows.

No thanks for turning GW2 in just another raid-grinder ..

No thank you to raid-grind gear-centricity.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against new skins in game and fun ways to get them, but raid grinding / tiered grinding isn’t how I want to see it implemented. This wasn’t advertised as “that type” of game, and I hope it doesn’t become “that game” either.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

The problem is that there was a very vocal coterie of people (though I don’t know how representative they really are of the larger player base) agitating for raids, and it got so that ANet eventually hired a designer who specializes in raid design, so I guess raids in some form are coming eventually.

I saw the posts about them hiring a raid designer, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It really depends on how things are done. Has anything been definitively stated that these will be instanced raids? I haven’t been following that thread religiously.

You know, I’ve seen a few posts where people claim ArenaNet has hired a raid-content Designer. I’m not sure why that rumor has taken root, as the position is still being offered on their website. Which indicates, at least to me, that the position is still open, and they haven’t hired anyone yet. /shrug

I thought Whiteside had confirmed that they had hired someone? Guess could go browse through the dev posts, see if we can find something about it.

The big problem here is that the gemshop is a tool to “milk” the game, not a reason for people to keep playing it. There needs to be something else, some meat to the game to keep people interested for the gemshop to actually be successful. The gemshop by itself is not content, and is not keeping people playing.

I’m not entirely sure why “raids” are asked for again and again, this game doesn’t do larger scale fights that well, and that is basically all you mean by “raid” isn’kitten… just a dungeon with a larger group of players? The game is a lot better in smaller scale encounters, therefore more smaller scale encounters (dungeons) should be made, with their own unique rewards (not just reskins or other lazy ways of “adding” content).

I am assuming no stat inflation and other horribly artificial difficulty mechanics with these “raid” suggestions, as it is to my understanding most of those treadmill proponents left before Ascended gear even came out.

But creating content that gives the best items only to 1-5% of the playerbase while
kittening of the rest of the playerbase is not really something that would keep “people”
interestet .. and maybe made all those people leave that choose this game mainly
for the reason that they simply had enough from these raid-grinders.

More maps .. yes .. more world bosses .. yes of course .. more skins .. yes .. could never
have enough .. but raids (in form of inszanced WoW-style raids) .. no thanks.

Sure raiding not be for everyone. But there needs to be a way to show the effort people put into the game by completing raid content. A way to distance the hardcore mass that sticks around weeks after weeks learning the fight from the filthy casual that enjoy spamming 1

Yeah .. content for the elitists that constantly insult all other players .. that will save the game .. why not ban 90% of the players because they are just “filthy casual #1 spammers”
so that we only have those real skilled corner stackers left, since they are the only
one that counts.

Than delete the whole open world that you can login directly from charselect
to a corner where you can stack and kill a boss with spamming #1.

And new content .. every month that boss gets double hitpoints and hits for double
damage, and the corner gets another color .. and since you got gear that also
doubled your hitpoints and the damage you do .. in the end nothing changes
but hey .. its called progression and will keep those players that think they are
so much wiser than everybody else.

If u think u can stack in a corner and spam 1 to down bosses, u clearly never been in a raid. As i was saying, the rewards would only be skin with no stats increase, as u progress better skin would drop, but bosses encounter would get harder more complicated and would require better planning. Most raid bosses has attack that can potientally wipe a whole raid if not interupted.

We are not in EQ2/WoW/Rift here .. the number game that raids in these kind of
games have doesn’t work here .. and yes i have raided in EQ2 and i am here because im
simply sick of that kind of stuff.

If you like that .. please go there and have fun .. but don’t turn the only game that
is different into the same kind of sh**
