Q:

Hello everyone!

Im stuck with a question, i bought this game a few days ago and im exited to play it.
But one thing bothers me, the ingame gems [Wich must be bought with real money]

I tried to figure it out myself, but do these gems give you much benefit in the game itself, Like PVP – PVM[PVE]?

Or is it more for the cosmetics ETC?
Please dont take this wrong, im just someone new who doesnt want to pay ingame as well to be part of the players.

Thanks already!
Regards,
Nick [Netherlands]

The items in the gemstore never offer you any improvement over other players in anything competitive at all.

There are some boosters you can buy to improve your stats in PvE, but they’re minimal and that’s it. Other stuff that come often in the Trading Post are skins and some quality of life items, such as unlimited gathering tools.

Also note that you can buy gems with game gold, so you don’t have to spend real money unless you really want to get stuff fast.

gemstore things are purely cosmetic or make your life easier. If you dont buy anything with gems you wont be at a disadvantage.

The only gem purchases that might be seen as a massive advantage (even that is iffy) would be the bank tab/inventory bag slot expansions which allow you to have more in your bank/inventory.

No, nothing in the gem store is really pay to win, as they say. Lots of style (outfits, armor skins, toys) and convenience (everlasting picks) stuff, plus things like XP boosters and keys to open the chests you find in-game.

And, once you’re rich, you can buy gems with in-game gold to get some of that stuff.

There’s no “Pay To Win” aspect to GW2, pretty much everything in the gem store is vanity and convenience items, so there’s no need to worry about being at a disadvantage compared to cash shoppers.

Gems can also be purchased with in game gold at the currency exchange, so even if you don’t buy gems for real money, you can still enjoy the benefits of gems if you swap some gold for them

hehe now thats where you are wrong man… you DONT need to buy gems with real money. You can…sure but you also can convert your ingame gold to gems if you want anything from the store. The gem store got a lot of cosmetic stuff and convenient items but nothing from there is needed to get the full game experience. Boosters do what guild banners do, gathering tools can be bought with the same “stats” on almost every vendor in game, bank access is in every city etc…etc..

Seriosly…dont worry, those items are only convenience items, cosmetics and toys. To own them doesnt give you any advantage
