Since the dungeons don’t require the person who started the dungeon to remain in the instance or even on the same toon. Can we please have it where if you have finished the story line for the dungeon any of your account characters can enter it without having to do the story??

I run dungeons daily. I also have multiple characters that are also set up however I have not done the story line thus making me unable to open the dungeon into explorable mode. There is a quick way around it… log onto my main… start the explorable instance and then wait until a party member gets in. Then I change back..

Because of the changes to the instances owner it is mundane to actually complete the dungeon story on multiple characters. Can we not have it where it is account based and available for all characters????

In case it needs to be spelled out for Anet:

If you are in a party of 5, and nobody can open an explorable mode dungeon because none of you guys have completed its story mode counterpart….

One of your party members can simply swap to a character that has story mode completed… open the instance… everyone joins him in the instance… then the person who opened can just swap back to the character he originally wanted to play on (who does not have story mode finished)

For this very reason, enforcing story mode completion on a character to character basis is completely pointless, and should therefore be removed.

I agree that it is a bit silly due to the easy character-swap work-around. But, it probably still serves a small purpose, especially for new players who have not done the story mode and want to experience it without waiting in LFG forever. Or even if they ask some guildies if anyone will do the story mode with them, people will probably be more likely to join if they can bring an alt and unlock the dungeon on them.

It’s really not that big a deal. You do the story mode once on the new character, and explorable is unlocked forever.

Some of the story modes are quite fun too, but the rewards are lacking. I’d love a boost to rewards to make them “worth doing”. Why not have them be done regularly?
