I was in wayfarer earlier passing through to Snowden and I cam across a level 11 who looked like he had some sweet gear, so i asked him, “what staff and armor is that?” he replies “Norn T1 and Flame staff.” So how exactly did this guy get tier 1 light armor and a flame staff at level 11? Or am I missing something?

Transmute stones. I was wearing the priory medium coat on my thief from around lvl 55 to 70.

you can do that really easy. if you got a main you can buy the T1 armor and than use the transmutation stone to transmute the T1 gear.

Was he downleveled? How can you see someones actual level in wayfarer?

i didn’t even need an alt to use my priory armor. It’s level 80 to equip, but you can still buy it at any level as long as you belong to the orderand transmute it onto lower level stuff which you CAN equip.

I would assume cultural is the same way. I wear some tier 2 human boots, but I can’t remember what level I was when I bought them. They are now level 80 exotic stats.

Level 80 rares are only good for the skins anyway because eventually you will want exotic stats so it’s not much of a sacrafice to transmute it.

Are you sure he wasn’t downleveled?

There are quite a few of us level 80’s in wayfarers cause we just like the density of events in the area.
At any given moment there will be half a dozen downleveled players in there and you’ll be level 11 for most of the events in area between Twinspur Haven and Crossroads Haven.

Yes it is possible to transmute the skins of higher level armors/weapons into your lower armors. My ranger is currently wearing the Berserker Duelist top and bottom (both level 75 ish) and she is only level 45.

I almost am sure that he/she must be high level and got downed level to match that zone.
but any way, it may be alt characters support with main one.

This was my guard when she was level 2. It is simply through the use of transmute stones. Tip: if you have a high level item that won’t let you transmute because of the rune/sigil make sure the lower item you are moving it to has a low level rune/sigil so you can use that instead of the high level one. I had to do that for the HotW pants in the picture.

You can even do this with a legendary item if you wanted to, though I would not recommend it.
