Not enough gold sinks?
well we don’t have data. How significant was the gold sink from repair fees? since the amount was static ever since the game was released, maybe anet decided it was obsolete and thus should be removed.
Is the gold sinking at a healthy rate, healthy enough for anet to actually remove sinks? prices have been inflating, and while the gold acquisition outside of speculation is relatively balanced, once again, I’m missing data to know whether it was a good decision or not to remove repair fees.
I’m pretty sure the gold income from champion bags is a lot higher than the sink from repairing/retraiting, otherwise they wouldn’t have done this change
The big gold sink is the 15% tax on TP sales, what is more if gold sinks aren’t enough prices go up and the TP tax grows, eventually balancing creation / destruction of gold again.
That’s why those silly “sinks” of repairs and respec fees are absolutely unnecessary and are being removed. I might have spent 2-4g in respecs, meanwhile I probably lost 100s of gold to TP tax.
They are reducing gold from champ bags and removing it from repair. They are also expecting you to invest gold in gem store.
Gem store is a good gold sink.
