So after skill points replaced with hero points. I can get nothing by leveling past 80?

Not at the moment. But after HoT is released (and if you buy it) after level 80 instead of levelling up you’ll start training masteries.

Apparently this is a completely separate system from XP but in the betas it used the same bar and progressed as a result of many of the same actions, so I think the only practical difference is that XP scrolls won’t give you mastery progress.

Well, they pretty much separated old Skill Points into 2 different things. Hero Points are the new things that unlock skills/traits. Spirit Shards took the place of old Skill Points as currency form.

As far as gaining a full XP bar post-80, you don’t gain any Spirit Shards or anything anymore like skill points used to. They’re dropped by foes and found inside loot bags and that sort of thing now.

Well im not bothered by this but if i was a new player and encountered this then i would truly think Anet doesn’t have a clue what they are doing. Full exp bar = nothing that kinda goes against the point of an mmorpg
