Can we get that increased dye drop rate that was accidentally introduced earlier this month? With the bots gone and dye having a rarer chance to drop than ever before the prices are skyrocketing for unidentified dye. I’d really like to have the ability to reasonably customize my character rather than having 1 new colour to use per week.

You made me realize that in the past 2 weeks at least i didnt even get a single unidentified dye just the usual green rare armors/stuff, im not playing much lately but i think they should drop more mainly because they aren´t account bound. I wonder if someone pushed the wrong button again : /

I haven’t noticed a lowering in dye drops, in fact I’ve gotten quite a few lately. Start using more MF and get the guild buffs, it makes a difference.

And why can’t u just buy the colours that u want ? not like it’s expensive anyway .

They didn’t decrease dye drops by accident and they won’t increase them again, mark me words.

The problem is not the bots; they are not gone. My evidence would be a bustling 3rd party gold market, unless you are saying they’ve found a new method of farming gold.

The problem is how a company chooses to respond to the presence of bots and gold sellers. There was an interesting object lesson in the major ARPG released earlier this year. There were bots and complaints about the bots in the community. What did they do? They removed gold from destructibles and weapons form weapon racks. These elements were a defining feature of that ARPG franchise. They left them in the game because they realized they were one of the defining game elements, but then there was the absurdity of breaking vases and having nothing spill out and having your repair bill go up. The community went nuts.

It is never right to harm legitimate players or make their game less rewarding because of the presence of botters. There are a variety of methods to detect bots, from software like Warden, to data mining techniques that detect bot-like behavior like running around in circles 24/7.

Truth is, in a successful game, you will always have botters. The only response that is unacceptable is to make the game less fun or rewarding for legitimate players because of it. We play because games are fun and rewarding. Game companies seem to learn lessons slower that most and also seem to have greater difficulty reality-testing potential solutions to problems.

I can report personally to seeing maybe 4 unidentified dyes drop in the last 2 weeks (considering my friends were trying the trial and this was a holiday weekend that means I have been playing too much imo) and I have also seen some bots. Certainly not as frequent on the bots, but yeah.

Personally I am curious as to how many people feel the dye drop rate < before the accidental increase. I do, but by maybe 10%.

Personally i noticed a big decrease in drop rate after the fix of the accidently increased drop rate during the halloween event, since then, i just got 1! unidentified dye…

I play every day on multiple characters, i have done map completions, several dungeon runs, WvW, used mf, but still only 1 dye.

All the color schemes I like involve either abyss or white. ~.~

Also, ever since they “fixed” the “accidental increase”, it’s been dropping a LOT less than it did on launch day before this “accidental increase”.

The prices have been skyrocketing because they over-nerfed the drop rate by a rather large margin.

Funny, last night I was running about a empty zone, was standing next to this ore node, when all the sudden poof out of nowhere, this asura appears next to the node, farms it, and then poof disappears. Now since it was a iron node, I doubt highly he was logging in, farming it, and logging out, more likely it was a teleport bot.

So my guess is bots are still around, and the ones that got banned will be right back on new accounts, since Anet only does something about them like every 2 months anyway.

Now since it was a iron node, I doubt highly he was logging in, farming it, and logging out, more likely it was a teleport bot.

So my guess is bots are still around, and the ones that got banned will be right back on new accounts, since Anet only does something about them like every 2 months anyway.

Stand at the key chests in WvWvW Boarderlands. You’ll see these punks teleport in and out grabbing the keys, then blinking out again. They move so fast, it’s hard to get a report on them.

Here’s a better list:

1. get rid of DR open world
2. increase the drop rates for level 80’s
3. make MF work on EVERYTHING including chests for level 55+ zones and up
4. fix MF for level 80s so that a score of 11% or more doesn’t break drops
5. fix drop rates of ectos off salvaged rares
6. make drop rates on champions/veterans work as intended last patch

That’s funny as I’ve had maybe three across the several characters I play in the last week. The drop rates are obviously much lower than they were before the increased drops bug. The drops of dyes are far, far less than they have been in the past. If you want dyes it seems like cash is the only option that they currently have made available in the game.

There’s less automated bots, but still plenty of hackers/gold farmers. I was stalking one that was multiboxing with 3 toons in dredgehaunt cliffs and occasionally teleporting to nodes. I wanted to be sure it was a multi-box and not just 3 people speed clearing and sticking close together, and they they were actually teleporting and not just on the edge of my field of vision. When I cornered them on top of a hill they finally noticed me and stopped and as I was about to type in my report poof! 1 by 1 they disappeared. I saw all 3 blazing by later on the other side of the zone and as soon as they saw me they poofed again.
