Rather interesting way to get into beta as well.

And a rather good way to guarantee that people in the beta are actual active players.

Given ANets track record for RNG, I am afraid to even hope to get one of these.

The RNG aspect makes me weep bitter tears. BUT at least people who actually play will have a chance to get in.

This looks extremely interesting. Very good way to get access to the beta, even if it means I have to farm silverwastes for 5 hours to get in, haha. I wonder if there will be any new content other than what was in the stress test we already had that I didn’t get the chance to do.

Question for Anet will be then: if you had an invite from the stress test will that account be flagged still for this next beta round or not? I can still see my beta character, but just wondering if I need to try and spend extra time in the new maps or not.

Very unlikely.
They want people in the beta after all. And having the drop rate so low so that 100 people or so are the only ones that get access is probably not the best of ideas.

Well it is patch day, so I would assume (if there is a patch) that it will start after that.

Almost guaranteed that there will be a limit. Otherwise they could just have invited everyone.

I love it, this is a great way to choose beta players — pick from people that are actually playing the game.

Good thing I enjoy Silverwastes! Problem though is “for a limited time” — I hope it’s not only tomorrow, since I have so much less computer time on Tuesdays than any other day of the week.

And as others say above, there must be some amount of cap, let’s hope it doesn’t fill up by Tuesday evening. /crosses fingers

Don’t be surprised if you farm for the entire day and don’t see a key.

I’m guessing its possible that cap can be reached within the first 5 minutes. I’m sure that there wont be a message stating that mobs will no longer drop them to keep players in those 2 zones.

That depends on the numbers of “tickets” and how often they drop.

It is also rather likely that when it is confirmed that all tickets are out there will be some sort of message about it.

Or you can just get some friends and go hang out in Silverwastes instead of turning the game into a job for a drop you might not even get no matter how hard you try and then calling it a grind.

A grind produces a result after a specific time; this will not.

Meh, I’ll probably just wait for the open betas. Not a big fan of disappointment (which is likely to be my result).

Enjoy the idea. Hopefully a little more of the map will be revealed and not what was done in the stress test. Looking forward to it anyway.

Just hope that this closed beta test is a true beta test becuase letting the players play the demo build that was tweaked (Anet admitted this) in the last so called beta is an insult to the beta process!

Trogdor, I’m confused. If I was invited to the first beta, am I automatically invited to this one, too? :P

Geographically, I understand the map choices. But sticking something like that in one of the most farmed zones in the game… there’ll be a lot of people getting beta access that a) don’t care or b) probably won’t even understand what it is.

Oh well.

Okay, so it drops off of mobs in Silverwastes. Does that include the mobs during the defense events that don’t drop any loot, or only the roaming mobs?

How are they going to stop people getting more than one invite dropped from mobs?
And if some one does get two, or more, I hope that they are not sellable on the market because I could see them going for insane amounts of gold.
