So I’ve noticed that ArenaNet’s greatly obsessed with the Quaggan. I don’t get it, why would anyone be obsessed with creatures that look like they’re taken from Mass Effect and retextured to have spots on their heads and a blue tint.
They’re constantly talking about them, they’ve added Baby Quaggan tonics and now — the backpack.
What’s their appeal? Why don’t Skritt, Grawl or any other monstrosity get the same treatment? I don’t seem to understand the situation, unless it’s some weird in-joke.

It’s because the players en masse love Quaggans, so ANet puts Quaggan stuff in the cash shop because they know people will buy it.

Foo. More Quaggan.

Because Quaggan loves you.

They are the mascots of GW2 and they’re **** cute. And they sing! they fricken sing!
You simply have no soul if you don’t love them.

Quaggans are the greatest thing to have happened to the world of gaming.

BTW it was invented by Kekai Kotaki (gone from Anet ).

At first it was just a drawed joke called Potato Bag, later they called it quaggan and made it a race.

Just for the story. Not stolen from Mass Effect.

I’m more of a Skritt man myself, but those Quaggan are adorable.

And they’re clearly the mascot creatures of GW2, so ANet will naturally invest in them.

I would want to buy this quaggan backpack. It’s the only lovable race in the game
