I am infuriated that Anet would be so insensitive about the Titanic by having all the players spread their arms out like Kate Winslet did with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Whoever thought of this sick joke ought to be promoted or fired — whichever is worse.

Given the event and given that the event is still present in our hearts, the idea was suboptimal. I would suggest taking out the april fool immediately and write an ingame apology.

Who is to say one way other another that it’s really a reference to the titanic? For all we know one of the Dev’s kids was running around the back yard with their arms out pretending they could fly and making noises? So they added it the game.

This video was posted in the forums within the last week or two on a thread speculating on what ANet’s April fools joke would be. Imo, ANet saw it and and decided they liked it enough to use it as a basis for this years prank,

A fictional character in a movie briefly held out her arms. Somehow someone thinks that an airplane animation in a video game is somehow linked to this fictional character and the tragedy that happened over 100 years ago and decided to be offended.

People are amazing in what they decide to be offended by. It’s just incredible. Those leaps of “logic” cannot be taught in school. It’s a gift.

Sometimes i really wonder if the people who post some of those threads are trolling..they get so ridiculous..

How could you anet, the wife is currently crying in a corner because of this. This brings back so many emotions regarding Titanic, it has not even been 20 years since that movie and you made a joke about one of its main scenes that last almost 10 sec.
