Guild Wars 2

I recently got kicked from my guild that i had joined at level 25. I was level 70. I had racked up 33,000 IP (Or something close to that), had over a month of gametime and all because i told a joke with a swear word in it, then tryed to talk to the Officer like an adult, i was kicked. I feel terrible. Why? Partially because i was kicked. But mainly because the Officer had said that he kicked me because i ‘talked back’ and ‘disrespected’ (or something along the lines). Just because this Officer did not like me stating my opinion he kicked me from really the only thing i had in this game.

He was only 2 ranks above me, and i really think that its just unfair for someone with one or two ranks higher to be able to clear anybody out because they dont like them. In other games i’ve played it was the 1st or second rank ONLY. But now people of the 5th or so rank can kick?

I mean come on. How could they not abuse their power. Literally anybody can kick a person.

EDIT: I really dont know why i posted this. This is my first time posting a thread but i just feel like crap that after a month of good times, and connecting with people, a single officer kicks me for saying ‘d*ckhole’(Not offensive, it was referring to my urethra)in a joke. Other guys were talking about weed, drugs and illegal material a week or so before that for 3 hours. Im really bummed, so i just felt like sharing and seeing if anybody has similar cases.

Guilds are run by players and as such, they make the rules whatever they want them to be. Don’t like it? Don’t join a guild or make your own. That’s about all there is to it.

The guild’s leadership decides what permissions each rank in the guild has. If players of the rank of the one who kicked you have that power, it was given to them, probably by the guild leader.

You got to be careful when joining a guild. MMO players are nerds that when given a little power will turn into nerd hulks. I think it is the worse boss in any MMO.

I’m not entirely sure why this is posted here, Anet will not do anything, nor is it their place to do so. Guilds are run by the players and set their own rules for conduct in the guild as well as permissions to invite, kick, promote, etc.

You need to be talking to the leadership of the guild to get it resolved.

I second this. There are a lot better Guilds out there that are probably more than happy to take you in.

to that said there is a problem with the guild tools in that the permission to to give to rank that allows to invite members is the SAME permission as for kicking from guild and promote/demote other members, so it either all or nothing of that for a rank
