Anyone heard anything from anet saying the drop rates on the FULL ascended weapons?

No, but expect it to be low.

^ This. I’ve played 3000 hours and I’ve only gotten one exotic drop, and it was really crappy. Anet said that exotic drops were “rare”, so if Ascended drop rates are “really rare”, then expect to never get one.

^ Seriously, one exotic drop? You never found one in bags, chests, etc? You got some bad luck then, I only do Living Story when I pve and I’ve gotten a few out of that.

Yup, one exotic drop. I didn’t even recognize it as an exotic at first, because I’d never seen one before, so I took a glance at it and thought it was a rare. Later on, I looked in my inventory and compared the color on the exotic scepter to the color on my exotic armor and found that they were exactly the same.

I have gotten a few exotics from the Mystic Fountain, but only because I spent like 50 gold on rare weapons and through them into the fountain in bulk. Still, not a single exotic was above 1.5 gold on the tp.

Yep rare as in:

While climbing Mount Everest, on a warm day, you get a text message saying you just won the 6/49 lottery and didn’t even buy a ticket rare…

I don’t expect that the drop rate will be as good as exotics. However, let’s say that it is. Think about how many exotic drops you’ve gotten. Now, how many of those had stats you actually wanted?

So, I get an Ascended weapon chest drop and can choose which weapon I get. I want a Greatsword. So, now I’ve got an Ascended greatsword with stats that I don’t want. This is why I believe drops will not be a reliable means for getting one that works for you. And you won’t be able to sell them to a player who does want those stats, and buy the one you want with the gold.

I will live in hope that they drop like Ascended materials in FotM. Currently sitting on 129 Shards, so I feel slightly blessed with pink-grade stuff.

Some accounts are. Anyone in this game that has played long enough with other players can tell you they know people with good and bad rng accounts. It’s really impractical to say it doesn’t exist when all then evidence shows that it does.

I get a pink from a fotm run almost every time. That being said i have gotten 2 exotic drops in my 750 hours of playtime.
