The event runs at around every 15 minutes. You can basically just do an event, swap to another character to chop some softwood, do event and repeat the cycle with as many characters as you have. Should take less time than many of the map specific event dailies.

hopefully this leads finally to the point, that now where the event is finalyl fixed and ill run properly, that we will see soon also a significant increase in the supply of Sams, so that the ridiculous price of 300-400 Gold will finally fall down to a normal level due to the people that sit on some Sams sin years getting finally forced to go down with their prices, if they want to make still some profits with them.

haven#t bought it yet or done alot the event, because I always waited patiently for it, that anet wil lfinalyl fix this event, so that the game will finalyl see a more constant supply of new sams getting into the game, so that the supply can grow larger than the demand, so that prices will go down ….

Actually, I am not sure if it’ll drop that much.

I am sure it’ll it drop a bit. But being a collection item, and highly prized, even with the event fixed there will still be a large number of people who would rather just buy it.
Look at Pendant of Arah, Commissar’s Manifesto and All Seeing. Those events are working fine, but they are still pretty high priced. Plus, if the demand is a reflection of the number of players who need it for the collection, then all those that do drop won’t be sold on the TP. If it does drop in price, it won’t be for a long while, until the majority of players who are needing it get it as a drop, and continue farming the event (if at all) in order to increase the supply.

I suspect that after a month or two, with the event fixed, you’ll start to see lower numbers of people running the event. Partially due to the fact that they got their drop, and the event chain itself isn’t very profitable.

I’m pretty sure Sam will go down in price to a bit above the price of Komissar Manifesto.
Indeed now it will be (as it should always have been) a normal event easily doable / repeatable.
And a lot more of players will be able to drop Sam just by wandering in the map (doing dailies or exploration).

Lyssa event is still way harder to do (as you have to find a map where the defense has failed, which may sometimes be quite hard when ppl are succeeding the defense event), maybe the drop rate is a bit higher (the price of All Seeing is still quite low).

Sure, it won’t drop in a huge way.. I don’t expect it to fall from its approx 300g down to like 30g, that will never happen… but if it just would fall down from 300g to approx 200G and would then stay constantly at this, this would be already a huge step forward.

In general has this game a huge problem with rewards being not worthy the efforts pretty much everywhere in the game..
This can be only solved by anet reworking alot of the loot tables and giving event bosses more good things to drop, than just only 1 single rare item.
if these event bosses would have alot more interesting rare items, than just only 1 thing, then this would naturally increase the longevity of intere4st from players to continue on farmign these events to the point that this would ensure also that the supply of older rare items will stay for a much longer time.

Event booses like the onme of Ogre Wars need to get some good loots in their table, for which players would like to permanently do the event, because of these thigns beign not “loot and forget” rewards, which you need to receive only 1 single time to get instantly done forever with an event, because of the event providign after that then absolutely nothing anymore, thats worthful to do the event, cause of all the other stuff that you can receive beign just worthless green/blue junk and more worthless trophies ect

Thats a huge problem of this game since game release and in general a huge problem of MMORPGs, that they oftenly feel way too unrewarding, due to devs finding not a real good pleasurable golden middle between the points of economy balance and player reward/effort ratio balance.

However, we will see, how much the price of Sam will normalize now.. fact is, it should normalize now due to practically a normalized more constant expecatly incoming of new Sams due to the event working now correctly.

In case of the pendant you can see also in a different way, that prices can go down over time.. in case of the pendant, it is due to a lowered demand over time.. cause if the demand gets lower, while the supply stays basically the same, prices will also go down until they meet the point, where the current demand is willing to buy, what is also somethign what I find good.

In my opinion should none of these collection items cost multiple hundreds of gold, because absolutely nothing that you receive as end reward is worth all the spent money…

But too many people are sadly so dumb to buy from others these items at these ridiculous high prices, because theres already way too much gold in this game, so that way too many people can buy items with such high prices, as if such prices would be peanuts for them, where 99% of the casual rest of the community has to farm and grind a real long time to get so much money at all ever or have to be real lucky at the loot from the event to have not to buy the item from the TP to get the collections done.

The gap between super rich and poor casuals became daily bigger and bigger over the last years

Sam was incredibly expensive even before it was a required part of a collection. I expect it to end up priced slightly more than similarly low-rate drops in the same collection.

Previous example of drastic price reduction with increased availability: Final Rest

As long as players continue to see Sams drop during the boss events, they will be motivated to farm the chain to death in the hopes that they will win the 300g lottery. I did similar with the Pendant, running a number of characters once per day on my secondary machine.. 2 pendants and 3 months. Drop rate is not enough to keep me going at it, but alas, I like to change what I’m doing on a regular basis so the game stays interesting
