Q:
Oh Anet will we see the Stalwart armor again?
Er. Afaik its in the game. Might wanna Wiki it up.
EDIT: Just checked, yeh only the chest piece is available, i got all pieces via PvP (old system).

Just happy I got the full set from the old pvp system. My thief in full Stalwart minus helmet looks pretty awesome. I’d upload a photo but I’m at the office.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
The personal story allows you to get 4 pieces of it. I know one of the pieces you can’t get are the shoulders because that’s the piece I was looking for.
use the wiki and you’ll see you can earn them from personal story indeed.

It’s the only peice I want, I don’t care how hard they are to get I just want to be able to get them!! My BarbieWars play for medium armor depends on it!
Looks like another armor set that can no longer be fully obtained.
I have this set because I was rank 50 when the patch hit with all the skins unlocked. This set really didn’t even look cool or rare because you could obtain it at rank 1 from tournament chests.
ArenaNet has stated that some armor sets will no longer be obtainable since the April PvP patch, it appears to be an intended change to give PvP players something for PvPing before the major patch.

Unfortunately, not true. The only part of Stalwart armor (the skins) that is available is the chestpiece. The other pieces are named Stalwart’s, but are actually Studded.
There’s also a few Light and Heavy PS rewards named Stalwart’s, but they are obviously not part of the Stalwart set.
I personally like that the set is no longer available. It feels like my character has some exclusivity to it and makes my Thief very recognizable. Especially in WvW i get tells all the time and people run when they see me coming. Granted im only using the shoulders, chest, boots and gloves with aviators and rascal pants. But i love that sense of uniqueness.

Exclusion, by definition, is no something you should want in an mmo. Rarity is one thing as being seen with such an item shows the passion and drive behind getting it. But something you can no longer get? That’s just a reason not to play the game. Build up enough of those and it’ll kill any mmo.

Exclusivity through purely hacking an item out of the game is very controversial, this has been established all the way back to RuneScape’s party hats. It especially escalates when the way it was done was as a side-effect of changing a reward system that was supposed to improve the game and not take more away from it.
If a developer wants exclusivity, then they should do it through just sheer difficulty in some way or the other.
When you see someone with a storm wizard sword in GW2 and you like it, it urges you to (eventually, when SAB is back) to hone your skills to finally beat W2 tribulation mode.
When you see someone with a max cape in RuneScape and you want that thing, it gives you the motivation to grind hundreds of hours away.
When you see someone with a selfless potion, stalwarts set, or sunless wings, and you want it, it just leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth that no matter what you do, it aint gonna happen. Sour is not a good taste. No one likes sour.

I don’t see people and think “man he’s cool, he must be good” I see those people and I think “kitten Anet and their temporary content”.
I don’t actually dislike Anet or their temporary content, but the idea that there are styles I want and am willing to work for but simply unable to get really rubs me the wrong way.
