I switch between daggers and staff all the time and when I go to a vendor when my bags are full, I always have to be carefull that I don’t vendor one of my exotics. Or worse, my Bifrost. I just log-in and they ask in my guild chat to link the Bifrost. But, I can’t find it anymore in my back pack. So the thing I feared must have happend, I accidently sold my Bifrost for 3 silver.

It’s shouldn’t even be possible! Who would willingly sell their legendary for three silver? Is there really not a way to prevent your frequently used weapons from appearing all over your back pack when the inventory is full? Give designated back space for it or something

And invisible bags are useless, when the weapon doesn’t go in there in the first place.

I feel sorry for you. (And you don’t have been hacked during your offline time which would maybe explain that someone sold your legendary and not you? O.o)
However, in my opinion the legendary shouldn’t be that easy sellable. If you want to sell, salvage or destroy it, you first should have to type in the legendary’s name.

EDIT: Draygo, I didn’t know that. ^^

It doesn’t matter what bags you use, when your bags are full the items goes to the last available spot, no matter what it is or wich bags you have.

With something that valuable, you’d at least take the extra two seconds between a weapon swap to put the item in an Invisible bag.

Also, if you have your swap weapons in the invisible bag, your weapon puts where those weapons were. Theoretically, if you were wise enough to already have them in your Invisible Bag, your Bifrost would go directly there in the swap (where the available spot would be.

Things come to mind…

-lack of oversight
-impatience
-inattentiveness
-poor judgement
-bad luck

Really?

Okay…so another one comes to mind: troll. Because either the OP deleted it (which requires a confirmation and in extreme cases a typing of items name), or he left it in the bank.

I agree with the OP, sure he/she could have been more careful, but there are items (quest items/certain karma items?) that can not be sold…certainly Legendary items deserve the same treatment?

Try putting in a ticket and see if you could get your account rolled back?

They can’t be sold to vendors.

So it sounds like it is either:

Accidentally deleted

so many people tell Areann.1304 that invisible bags exist…. did you even read the topic?????
he stated that weapons are not automatically put back into these invisible bags!!!!

i would need a bag that is like the exotic fractal bag + invisible at the same time + for ascended gear too at the same time
would be the only solutuion but i guess a bag like that will never exist -.-

It doesn’t matter what bags you use, when your bags are full the items goes to the last available spot, no matter what it is or wich bags you have.

no
IT WOULD NOT go back into the bag if you have 2 weapons equipped and then change to a 2-handed weapon then only your main hand weapon goes to the place where the 2-handed weapon was and the other one not!!!

+

EVEN IF YOU HAVE A FRACTAL BAG FOR EXOTIC GEAR: if you open Hero Window and then unequip the weapon by rightclicking it and then clicking “unequip”
then the weapon IS NOT put into the fractal box for exotic gear!!!!!
WHY NOT??

i only use dungeon armor/weapons because of that …. not that i couldnt buy armor/weapons for gold but i use extra time just to get the stats that i need with dungeon gear so it does not show up in the merchant window so that i dont have to scroll through it everytime/can not accidently sell it

and yes i do have invisible bags but i prefer exotic fractal box so that the gear is always put into the bag where it belongs to

Simple solution. When it comes to such valuable items any time you are in a situation where you might be able to get rid of them/sell them, don’t start spamming left click. I weapon swap often as well. I don’t have items near that value at the moment but still important to me. I avoid such problems in two ways. When I trade the weapon out I take the extra 5 seconds to make sure I put it in the invisible bag and move other items to clear he spot if needed. Whenever I’m involved in a process that results in my character no longer having an item I take a second to pay attention to what I’m doing. I’m sorry but it isn’t that easy to nuke such things and in my opinion it is the fault of the person that did so.

I know of a bug in which items become invisible. Saw a video of it on YouTube. The slot is still occupied. Nothing else can be slotted into it; but the item has become invisible.

It’s this or you accidentally deleted your legendary while swapping weapons in a hurry.

I would love the option to add certain Items in your Equipment panel to favorites like you can do with dyes. While something is selected as a favorite, it can’t be destroyed, sold and turns up at the top of the equipment panel in a favorites section like dyes.

I would also love item in your backpack to have a line round the outside denoting their rarity, rather than having to hover over them to find out.

This game has so many small UI tweaks that would make everyones life so much easier.

I hate the fact that when I swap from daggers to staff, one of my daggers invariably goes walkies, and gets put in a normal bag rather than my invisible one. Also what is with items showing as their original item rather than their skinned version in the shop. EG my daggers show as CoF daggers not as Soulshards.

Well that is useful advise. The issue she’s having is very similar to the issue I have, that weapons don’t always go where they should. It’s annoying to have to go searching for your Staff in your normal bags, because FOR SOME REASON, it’s not gone into your invisible bag when you swapped weapons.

The problem would probably be fixed by a Exotic & Higher Rarity Invisible Bag. Shame these don’t exist.

because when you remove an item you leave an open slot.. which is randomly taken by the first loot u get.. and then your staff will get out of room in your “safe box” thats the main problem here.. which some seems to not understend..

Why would your staff go to your safe box at all? unless you swap it for an item already in your safe box. you pull your staff out of your equipped weapons it will go in the first available slot in your bag as there is no Legendary box in the first place.

But Legendaries can’t be sold anyway apparently. But anyhow it’s kitten annoying with Exotics to constantly be playing hunt the Exotic.

In GW1, if you equipped a two-handed weapon over your one-handed set, the off-hand equipment would remain in its slot, just “disabled”. So you could equip a bow or a staff with a shield, but the shield would not be functional.

It would be nice if GW2 had something like this. It would make weapon switching outside of combat less clunky, and avoid similar problems.

An invincible bag is not enough because you can’t “reserve” a slot just for one piece of equipment, so when you switch, your equipment might not go there, especially if its full. And if you leave it empty, a random piece of loot will go there automatically, rendering that strategy useless.

Legendary weapons can be sold if they have been transmuted, because the item code is still the exotic you put the skin on. The icon of the legendary is the icon of the item you transmuted it onto when you view it on the merchant.

  1. OP was bored and made up a story to see what happened, get attention.
  2. OP put it some place else.
  3. OP /rage quit and deleted it and now has remorse and wants it back.
  4. OP just wants a freebie and was hoping staff would read it and send him one because of some made up story.
  5. OP was trying to suggest some changes as to ways to store such items and decided to flavor it with a tall tale.

Cast your votes. I’m going to try to put a more positive spin on it and vote for 5. My backup vote is 1.

yeah it’s simple trolling. specially because if you swap to d/d and the dagger were on the invisible bag the staff goes in the spot left by the main dagger… so it’s not that easy for a 2h being deposited outside the invisible bag if he was really using one.
that said when i deleted my extra polla i had to type the name of the item, i guess (i will not try) same goes for legendary. last but not least somebody already proved legendary cannot be sold. if he had one you should have known

If you go onto your Hero screen and drag out the staff, then drag in the D/D it will drop into the first available slot. I’ve lost my staff in my bag a few times this way.

But if it can’t be sold or deleted (without popping in the name). It’s probably in the bank or somewhere in their bag. Are all the bag tabs maximised?

Whether the OP is truthful or not it is still a poor design on the bags as far as I am concerned. Items in the invisible bag will not show at vendors but items have to be manually placed into it. Items in an equipment box are automatically put in but they show at vendors. As well any piece of equipment looted will go into the equipment box if there is an empty slot available so if you fill that slot then swap to a one hand weapon to dual weapons one item invariably goes into the general inventory.

With a bit of work those bags could become dedicated. Once you manually replace an item in a slot it stays there unless you move it out. I have played many games that allowed add-on’s to do such a thing so why game companies are always so far behind the curve on inventory management is quite beyond me.

Theftwind (HoD)
