Do you think its a good idea that some items get a limited time to be aquired then after said time get locked away into the mists never to be seen again apart from on the TP at ridiculous prices?

My answer would be not really, most casual players who dont have the time to get gold or these items can be put into a place where people who has these items undercut the gem to gold convertion rates and selling these items on third party sites for real money that is cheaper than what the BLTC rates are which can also lead to more people getting scammed and leaves Arenanet out of pocket. As i have seen in other mmo’s this happens quite alot.

Whats other people thoughts on this matter ?

Related to that are the skins, minis, and achievements that will show up in a person’s inventory and wardrobe lists that are not available for players coming after the special event to fill in.

On the one hand, GW2 is a collectible-heavy game and they obviously encourage this playstyle, yet on the other hand, they don’t seem to understand that they’re shooting themselves in the foot by showing all the things a collector can collect and then making sure they can never get their hands on many of these items simply because they came to the game post-launch. It’s defeating the overall system.

Most limited items have seen a temporary reintroduction less than 1 year after after they got limited. Especially since season 2, most items are available year round.

If items are made harder to acquire or limited, it also makes them more valuable, once they get introduced again, which is a good thing.
