Hi there fellow GW2 player!
So after half a year break from GW2 i decided to come back and take a look at the game. I stoped playing GW2 because i was so bored about not getting new abillitys for a new lvl like in old fashioned MMORPG. So i got bored of every profession pretty quick and thats the reason i never got past lvl…20 i think. But now i decided that im gonna roll one class and stick with it. What class would you recommend that its the least boring and most fun to play? Back the my fav was thief but i dont kow if any changes were mate to profesions so please i need your opinions and suggestions (also what race). And because im lazy i would kindly ask you if there were any major updates in the mean time i should know about befour starting?

I got bored with the Thief pretty quickly too. Try a Human Elementalist. They’re really fun, and you don’t get bored easily while shooting fire, water, electricity, and earth from your hands.

I don’t think there were any major changes to the different classes. There were changes to Champion loot, they added Ascended Weapons and Ascended Trinkets, and they changed Teq into a raid boss. Those are the only major updates I can think of at the moment.

If you get bored with just 2 weapon sets, ele or engi are certainly very interesting play style.
They have content updates every two weeks, so there is usually something to keep you busy. There is also ascended items.
If you’ve got time, you can read through all the specific updates here http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates
Or get general overview here https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/
A lot of the updates have been temporary content, though.

The classes still play the same as they did back when you were playing. No new skills, no new animations. Nothing’s changed except a few minor skill tweaks and of course the content. All in all, it’s still the same game as before class wise.

Well, to be fair, there have been a boatload of nerfs, and brand new, shiny vertical progression grind to get caught up in. But yeah, pretty much this.

I switched to my mesmer to spice things up. Give that one a try. Not many mesmer-like classes in ther MMOs so I find it rather unique.

As far as whats changed? Dont get me started. Read the patch notes, read the forums. Community is split 50/50 on if they like living story or not, and if ascended gear has any place in the community.

But I’ll leave that for you to decide.

Oh, we were promised more skills by the end of this year. Possibly purchased via skill points. Dont know how many per skill but if it follows arenanets recent trend, Id say around 50+ per skill..something rediculous. But who knows if we will actually get them.

If you want the biggest number of skills available to you at any single time, engineer and elementalist are the way to go. Then probably Necro and then the rest.
