Guild Wars 2

SO i have not played the game in almost 2 years or so and im finally coming back, i just had some questions

I noticed that there is a brand new ui and all of the changes for skills and abilities seems to have changed, Is there a easy guide to get hold players back in and used to all of this again?

Im curious on the hall of monuments i am slowly going through and getting the rewards, however if i tie my account now with only the 3 rewards, and i earn the other rewards later, will it reflect on my account or only when i tied my account over?

Is the guilde book for the original guild wars 2 still relevant even if i dont have heart of thrones?

You can obtain HoM rewards anytime…before or after linking accounts.

The Wiki (or any other internet-type site [Dulfy, etc.]) is probably much more up-to-date than any book.

Thanks that helps answer most of my questions, one last thing on HoM, is it only for 1 character or per character that can get the rewards?

Your account will get the rewards. and so all characters bound to your account. all skins will be free to apply as well.

You can continue to earn Hall of Monuments rewards after linking your accounts. But you need to add the items to the Hall in GW1, then log out, then log into GW2 before they’ll appear.

The rewards are account-wide, you can get all of them as many times as you want on all your characters (at one point I had the mini Orange Tabby on every character and about 20 in the bank as a result of testing this). And since the Wardrobe system was introduced the weapon and armor skins will also unlock in the wardrobe so you can apply them anywhere and don’t need to keep going to the Hall to get new ones.

I don’t have the guide book but I doubt much of it is relevant because there have been a lot of changes since the game came out, even before Heart of Thorns was released. Any information it’s got on skills, traits, levelling up, how to get equipment etc. will be out of date, and it won’t include any of the new content like Fractals, Southsun, Drytop, Laurels, etc.

The wiki has information on pretty much everything, but it might also be helpful to start a new character (if you have an empty slot) and play through from the beginning because one of the changes is that they’ve put in a lot of pop-ups and other info as you’re levelling up that will teach you about the game.

I just noticed when i created a new character i got a hall of monuments item, however none of my other characters seem to have this item. Is there a way to get this for them as well?

Is that the Hall of Monuments Portal Stone (blue orb)?

You can get one for free from a skritt karma merchant called Sarettokk in Hooligan’s Route (the cave in the north west corner of Lion’s Arch).

Ah so I will need to go to lions arch, Thanks, Im still re-learning the game as i havent really played since launch. The book still has alot of relavent info though which is a good thing.

You can unlock everything in the HoM with one character. No need to visit again, unless the one character was not a Ranger. (Rangers can pick up everything, including all Ranger pets.)

It will all go in the Wardrobe or unlock the Mini-pet for the account.

I noticed that it wasnt in the wardrobe at least on my characters to select since the items i have require you to transmute items. Is this a glitch or do i need to go somewhere special to access the wardrobe of items?

If you have the skin already it should be available to all that can use it. If, for example, you are looking for the HoM staff skin in your character’s wardrobe, that character will need to have a staff equipped to see it.

Maybe say what you are looking for and on what character.

If it asks for a Transmutation Charge, it’s not a Hall of Monuments skin (or pet, of course).

Ah i have the basic items from just tieing the account the heritage boots and robe and such? I cant recall the exact names at this time.

The first 3 points gives you shoes, pants and chestpiece for all 3 weights. If you just linked the account today, wait 24 hours. If, after 24 hours you still don’t have them in your Guild Wars 2 wardrobe and Kimmes doesn’t have them for you in the HoM in gw2 there you can try this,

1) be logged out of Guild Wars 2. log in to Guild Wars 1. Go to the HoM and speak to Kimmes. Switch between viewing the HoM for account or character to reset it. Log out. Log back into Guild Wars 2 and check your wardrobe.
2) if it’s still not there, go to the HoM in Guild Wars 2 again and speak to Kimmes after trying above. He should have the items then.

I should clarify, I do have the items in the HoM in guild wars 2 and picked the items up, however im not seeing them in my wardrobe option for my characters, just in the inventory and doublclicking applies it to the current item in the slot.

Make sure you are using the Wardrobe Tab, rather than the Equipment Tab to search for items in the Wardrobe.

Maybe if you posted a screenshot, forum-users could offer more help.
