Guild Wars 2

I live in Seattle. I have a friend of a friend in Australia who has been going through some personal strife. She has expressed interest in playing Guild Wars 2, and I wanted to buy her a copy of the game as a present to cheer her up.

The problem is that there doesn’t seem to be any formalized method to purchase the game as a gift. Would it be possible to buy a copy of the game with my credit card, but put in her email address so the registration code is sent to her? Or do I need to look into shipping a physical copy of the game to Australia?

You can easily buy it for her, I see no reason you couldn’t. Even if you had it sent to your own email, she could register it when you provided her with the key.

With Aion, NCSoft decided one day to ban all players who were not from the specified region of their servers. I was in China at the time, and I got banned from playing on North American servers, because there were local Chinese servers they wanted me to play on.

What I’m saying is make sure she can log into a US version of the game before you buy the game for her.

All versions outside of Europe are US version. Australia included.

Use a site like greenman gaming and gift it from there.
