Q:
On crafting and excessive double-clicking
1. They just implemented use all options for stacks of luck, so at least they have been working on QoL improvements in those areas
2. Its not allowed

Auto clicker is allowed btw wanze just not for anything that gives an upper hand on other players such as a function that presses heal when you hit 10% hp

Anything that activates more than 1 action per key stroke is not allowed. Auto clickers give you an advantage over other players in many scenarios.

In this precise case I see it as 1 action: “buy 10 items of this”, as the game does not provide a convenient way to do it.
You can cut the click at the vendor in half buy using the Buy button. Highlight (or double-click) the item you want once, then click Buy after that.
I also would love a way to specific an amount of items to buy, but that workaround should save some wear on your mouse.

Well, it doesnt really matter how you see it because anet defines a stroke and an action differently than you and they stated many times that auto clickers are not allowed.
If you are using auto clickers, thats your choice and your risk of getting banned.
The best legal workaround is binding leftclick to mousewheel.

There have been many dev responses about autoclickers that they are allowed for opening bags etc. I started using one recently as I opened over 30k tot bags sadly finding out that the weapons were not skins

I believe that you can also plead to have a muscular disease and that will solve your problem if you do get banned but i am not endorsing lying so that’s my two cents

Can you link a single one?

Yeah, a link to such a case is welcome. Last time I checked forum search did not work at all ))

Here is the official policy on macros and auto clickers.
The best way for a player to kitten whether a specific third-party program could have any impact on another player or a PvP opponent is to ask:
“Does this program allow someone to play faster, better, longer, or more accurately than someone who doesn’t use it?”
“Does this program allow someone to ‘play’ when he/she is not at the computer?”
“Does this program allow the user to gain undeserved rewards?”
If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”—or even “maybe”—then we strongly recommend that you do not use the program because to do so may place your Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account in jeopardy.
I guess auto clickers enable you to perform actions (buy vendor items, open containers, list or buy items on the tp) without having to be on the computer and they also enable you to play faster than someone who doesnt use it.

Their definition of auto clicker is different than what DarkMagister is asking. Their wording is:
4. You cannot program an “auto-clicker” macro that, for instance, opens chests while you play elsewhere.
Instead of playing elsewhere, you’d be actively holding down a button that will left click whatever is beneath your mouse at the time and you’re only using it to left click for looting/buying purposes. It only performs the function of left clicking and only does it while you the player hold down the specified key when you willfully mouseover a qualifying item.

But you are still performing multiple actions with only 1 keystroke.
“Macros
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.”

That depends on their definition of function. At the core, a function is a singular response resulting from the input of a user. When you input a command, you always get the same result. The only function this macro has is to left click; it doesn’t cast abilities 2-5 from one keystroke. By their definition, as long as the keystroke in question left clicks, only left clicks, and only does it as a result of the user’s active input, it should be fine. This is just my personal reasoning, and my right index finger thanks me for it.
Thank you very much for providing the link!
Yet I’m now even more confused. I would’ve liked to see an example of an “allowed” macros.
They say:
Guild Wars 2 players are permitted to use macros as long as the macros are programmed with a 1 key for 1 function protocol.
and
This means that if you program a macro, it must require one keystroke per action. You may not program a single key to perform multiple functions.
But macros is by definition multiple actions (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/M/macro.html):
A symbol, name, or key that represents a list of commands, actions, or keystrokes. Many programs allow you to create macros so that you can enter a single character or word to perform a whole series of actions.
They mention the auto-clicker (which is actually what I ask about) here:
You cannot program an “auto-clicker” macro that, for instance, opens chests while you play elsewhere.
Yet this does not say, can it be used, it this is active in the active window, instead of me clicking these chests. If they detail it as prohibited due to acting in the minimized window – does it mean what I want is allowed? Coz what I want seems to be against points mentioned above, yet not against the very idea “macros are allowed”. I’m confused.
TL:DR Points in their policy are contradicting each other and does not provide information on what is allowed.

They also said, if you are not sure, if something is allowed or not, you shouldnt use it.
This seems to be the case here.
End of story.

That is your understanding.
My understanding now is they on one hand allow macros, on the other – prohibit those details, that are part of definition what macros is. So something is wrong with our understanding.
So I’d be very happy if anyone from ANet finally emerged and, in addition to answering the development question, at least provided an example of an allowed macros.
Some people bind double click to their mouse scroll wheel, and then just spin it to open stacks. We’ve been told this is ok.
Some of us have a specific key bound to the double click action, which we can hold down to open stacks of items. This has been ok since GW1.
A ‘double click’ is considered ‘one action’ and the rules are one key = one action, and offers no game play advantage.
honestly do it at your own risk but i do not believe anyone has ever been banned for using auto clicker for opening massive amounts of bags or luck in their inventory. there was somewhere a long time ago where a dev made a vague response on it saying use at your own risk but i am not able to find it. just if you do end up using one i would not use it for anything other than opening large amounts of loot in inventory such as luck which can now be consumed by stack anyway
