On the bright side
Ive played it everyday i could untill now, when ppl say to not judge a content without playing it first, i agree with them, but my judgement wasnt too wrong, for once i expected this to be a big update as theyve stated, but so far i dont see much, 1 dungeon and 1 explorable area, i tought they were gonna work very hard at least this time to bring alot of WoWers to make up for the fact that they cheated and lied their costumers by secretly developing an entire different game and not come clean about it untill after the update. This is the biggest reason they will be loosing costumers, the second one is because they have also broken a promise.
Having said that, this weekend ill have to travel, i couldve taken my laptop with me to keep playing the game but tbh im just not in the mood, today was the first day i couldnt possibly get a CoE party, that alone ticked me off because i really enjoyed that dungeon, not that i didnt expect this, but ppl keep telling me to not judge this or not judge that and wait and see, well… what im seeying now is what judged it would be, except the update seems relatively short.
PS: ive got way over 310 hours, i have 4 fully geared level 80 chars, was planning to do my fifth now im not so sure, especially when someone stated they were going to make it level 100 in the near future i dont see the point in playing this game much.
about a ton I dont even want to estimate it is so high. Everyday for at leaset 6+hrs.
However I am not the person the devs want playing this game so I have left and uninstalled. Kinda baffled myself I spent money on the game and they dont want me to play and be apart of the community – really bad.
Yeah I got my £40 worth out of the game, not complaining here.
But I’ll be gone as soon as the games I’m waiting to be released come out after Christmas.
I had planned to stay for the long haul, but, but, it’s just, not good.
Jumping puzzles, love them or hate them, I hate them. Thread killer.

I think everyone got their money’s worth out of the game…. what else can you get entertainment wise for 60 bucks that keeps you occupied for 3 months…. I cant really think of anything.

If you read the D3 forums you will see this exact justification appear over and over when things went south. It’s a basic misconception of the nature of gaming when you are talking about a Diablo or a Guild Wars. The price is really of little significance. The true investment comes in time spent in-game in character development (and attachment), in friendships formed, etc. A Diablo or a Guild Wars is not designed to be over in 3 months and anyone offering this justification just does not understand the nature of gaming in these genre.

I still intend to play. I intend to get far more than my money’s worth. I’ve always been an alt player. I’m sad that the only time I’m likely to ever go into WvW from now on is to farm, though. I’ve never gone there to farm before, I’ve always gone to fight, but I don’t care anymore about it since I know I’ll never have on par gear.
So if you see me in there, don’t bother asking why I’m not doing anything useful, I won’t be on TS and I’ll probably be visiting the Krait, maybe kill a bot or two for badges if I see one.
Don’t worry, I won’t do that if there is a queue.

I was thinking the same thing. I’l;l keep playing, but not nearly to the level I was hoping to. I’ll dabble until something more reliable comes along. Kind of like how I entertained the CU and NGE until something else caught my eye. 460 hours total, probably about 300 of those actual playtime.

I don’t regret paying what I did for the original release of GW2, so I won’t demand a refund. The people responsible for developing the game have done a phenomenal job and need to be rewarded for everything they did before the treadmill. And even then, the content artists have probably had no hand in the decision about Ascended armor and infusions. It’d be unfair to be angry at them. In my mind, all of the money I spend so far went to the character artists, writers, map designers, and everybody else that wasn’t directly involved in the decision making process that lead to the addition of a gear treadmill.
I’m also glad that this change has come so early in the life of the game. I would feel a lot more angry and outraged if they pulled what they did 5 years into the game, after the attachment to my characters would’ve grown enough to make a separation very painful.
I’m still very interested in the lore of GW, but I can experience that almost as well through lets plays on youtube. I know it’ll satisfy me, because I did the same with GW1. For the longest time, a solo player couldn’t complete any of the elite zones because AI party members weren’t allowed in there and I was too inexperienced to join a speed clear PUG, the only reason players played that content. So I watched lets plays and walkthroughs of these areas, which didn’t really help me get into a SC group, but thanks to some very charismatic and lore appreciating youtubers, I was able to enjoy the elite content like I was playing it myself.
Can’t wait for someone to put up a detailed LP of the Fractals.
