Instead of just defiant stacks how about a percent chance the CC will take effect?
Would be pointless. You can use berseker for everything because no boss has any relevant attack that cannot be dodged. If no boss has any relevant attack that cannot be dodged, there’s nothing worth interrupting. If there’s nothing worth interrupting, between wasting time with crowd control or just doing more damage, it’s always better to do more damage.

Same idea applies. Even if Defiant didn’t exist, the most meaningful crowd control against those bosses would still be killing them.

Stacking is so efficient because the boss designers either intentionally or unintentionally made it that way.
6gold a day is slow for CoF. I make at LEAST 6g an hour doing CoF.

when most Attacks hits for unreasonable damage just because anets want us to evade everything (we have only 2 dodges actually) it becomes pointless to have ANY armor.
You get oneshot anyway…
The sad part is when zerker is not only the best in easy content like cof, but also in arah, in fotm 48, in every single part of the PvE world.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

This. The omission of an energy system really hurt GW2 in that regard. Bosses/mobs can’t threaten you except through your health. Which makes it all boil down to dodging the hugely telegraphed attacks, no strategy involved.
Since this game is a complete DPS race, It’d be so easy to make CC matter atleast against bosses to keep up the DPS. Say a boss heals/protects themselves regularly and you need a well-placed interrupt to prevent that. Or a boss steals massive life with the next attack that hits and you have to blind/weaken/etc it. Or it runs to a safe area and you have to snare it.
But that would require a overhaul of the atrocious Defiant mechanic.
Yeah, ANet said they don’t want to make pure role classes (like tank, healer, supporter, desupporter and such), so they made
Berserker
and
Hybrid
for all classes.
My elementalist is using power/toughness/healing gear. My mesmer isn’t fully geared, but she’d get toughness/precision/condition dmg. If I’d roll a thief I’d go with vit and con dmg. If I had a guardian it’d have PVT. Should I go on?
