Just the way it goes. If they have important bugs to fix, they can’t wait for you to be done with something. Learn to deal with it.

They gave you a heads up “Within one hour” I think you’d be hard pressed for anyone to liken that to ‘one year’ as you put it. Then they STILL gave you a one hour window of notice so that you could finish anything you were doing.
