I’m thinking of returning to the game after a year long hiatus. My question is (since the reason I quit was the GW2 team doing nothing but adding more skins to the game) Has anything been added that actually effects gameplay? For example new class skills and traits (I left after the initial GM traits were added) or are they still just adding maps and skins?

Map (singular), skins (plenty of them), and story (Season 2 of Living Story has been pretty solid I have to say). Outside of that, a number of updates have been QoL-related and some skill reworkings.

The vast majority of updates have definitely been skins/gem store items, IMO.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Lots of trait tooltips have been worked on, and they redid the trait system (now you have to do things like map completions/events/etc to unlock specific traits, rather than buying book). There are a couple new traits and some skills have been adjusted for PvP.

Other than that, LS HYPEHYPEHYPE, two PvE maps, and gemstore items are about it.

Just to remind you, the longer you do not log in, the more expensive it will be to open all the content. Each 2 week episode missed is 200 gems to open. You can get the content free by logging in and downloading it during the 2 weeks it is ‘live’.
