It’s intentional. Do your research before wasting materials next time.

It should be made clear that one can only craft one precurser per account as I doubt that the components are tradeable. If it isn’t clear from the description (which I don’t know), then I’m with the OP and this needs to be fixed.

Wait what?? If you already crafted the Legendary how can you get a second Essence of Rainbows? You get that from the chest of the third collection and you can’t complete the collection twice.

Did you crafted the Legend already and if the answer is yes, how did you got a second Esscence of Rainbows?

Or did you crafted the Bifrost with a precursor pre-hot and now that block you from completing your first Legendary Precursor crafting of the Legend.

Or, did he buy chest from npc since you can purchase the chests in case you lost them after acquiring them first time.

Such a mystery! Stay tuned and it’ll unfold!

edit While he might mean that you can only craft one precursor, instead of crafting same precursor only once, then we’ve problem. It’d be sad to notice you cannot make dusk after crafting dawn, for example.

Just btw, while you crafted the first one, the crafting station said that recipe is once per account. So it does tell you that you can craft that specific precursor only once…

Don’t most of the items come out of collections rewards? That should have been a clue . . .

It’s only one crafted precursor per account, since it’s a one time collection based activity.

A Legendary Journey
This crafting system is an account-based activity, which means you’ll only be able to craft each precursor this way once. However, all of the currently existing precursor acquisition methods will remain intact in addition to this new acquisition method. That means that if you want a particular precursor more than once, you’ll have to fall back to the original methods of acquisition.

You should submit a support ticket and see if they will give you your materials back. That is an honest, grand mistake [on your part], OP.

Maybe I don’t understand how these work, but I thought you could only do the collections once per precursor. How does one get all the way to the end of the third collection, twice?

this is happening to me right now! what did you do OP?? everything is account bound i even have everything to make gift of color, mastery, AND fortune. i been working on it for months! i never knew! how would other people be making their legendary for profit??

they do it the normal way, via mystic fountain

The crafting method wasn’t put in for people to make a profit. It was put in to get around the mystic forge RNG to get a precursor, to allow people to steadily advance towards a goal and (when it had a story attached to it) for a more immersive way to get a Legendary.

It’s 100% one of EACH precursor per account. On my main l’ve made Nevermore, the pre’ for chukka and champawhatsit (only did it for the tiger cubs) and am working on the pre’ for the new sword now.
I have made Nevermore 3 times though, on 3 accounts…….

This thread is nearly 2 years old (created in November of 2015). It may be some time before the OP answers, if ever.

Even before HoT Legendaries were released, it was announced that one could only craft one of each Precursor. To craft more than one Legendary of the same kind, one has to rely on drops, the TP (not HoT Legendaries), or the Mystic Forge.
