In my opinion we need atleast 15 daily achievements.Five for each category PvE/PvP/WvW but they all still count for one daily.I really like that i don’t have to do more than 1 daily anymore.
Also why only 2 monthlies?Make them atleast 3 com’n…

Normally I could get the daily just playing whatever I want to play.

This wasnt the case yesterday. I don’t normally do events stuff much, unless I’m in wvw (and everything there is an ‘event’.). This took 2 pve dailies away from me.

I realised just before logged off, I hadn’t finished my daily and had to figure out what I was going to do to finish it. This left playing longer and doing something I really didnt want to do.(pvp: win or lose).

Is anets idea of the daily to make it harder to achieve?
I’ve also noticed it takes longer to finish. The last daily I could finish in an hour. This one, I seem to be stuck in game longer, and actually having to look at the dailies to pick one to complete.
This sucks anet.

More choice for dailies is a must. Stop trying to push people to other game modes. Which is all you’re doing with this.
People who want to play those game modes, will.

It’s not a bug. They’re trying to encourage us, to take part in the entire game, not just one aspect.

Honestly why people buy a game like this and focus only on one part to me makes utterly zero sense. It’s basically throwing away money on a five piece display set, and you only wanted one part of it.

All the MMO developers- for any game,- would like to have all it’s content used by all its players- for as long as possible.
Simply cause that extends its viability before the need to expand or make new content.
PvP oriented games are easyer to make supply for the demand. as players mostly create its own content…
You might need some score boards or new incentive in the form of rewards.

PvEe will always be the hardest to fill demand for as,- especialy a sub group of pve’ers,- will skip most low level content to rush to max level and only focus on top range of content- (very sad) thease will usualy within weeks of lunch have maxed level and demand new max level content——— you can not as a developer satisfy this demand- it is impossible. – You can not develop faster than players make progress.

So: naturally Developers will try to do another thing that is virtually impossible…
try to get pve’ers to play pvp, and pvp’ers to do pve….
Again yes. some do all of it. and that is the “best” customer to cater for. .
Why?—- if the game had been purely pvp (the easy one to create for) all the pure pve’ers would have ignored the game.

So the middle grounds makes -the most customers -the least unhappy.
(it still leaves plenty of players unhappy)

The new setup is exactly to goat players into gong into all the content.-
I’m a PvE’er and hate pvp. but I must admit its a far harsher problem for the purist pvp’ers. They are down to 2 pure PVP and 2 wvw ones… the majority of the pve ones – can be done in wvw though-(not map specific like Orr, but gather etc)
But they have to enter the middle ground of wvw.

PVE’ers like me. can do pure pve and get daily 5 done.. I am annoyed that I can get less achi points than I used to,- sure. but I would always be behind top achi gainers as I didnt start on day 1. don’t do pvp, and have ignored pvp oriented limited time content like pvp JP’s etc.

All that said. The greed for achi points. did lead me to do more wvw.. and I will only admit to this in a forum like this – so that long time friends do not laugh at me ^^ I’m actually enjoying most of it.—
There are issues I do not like. such as the wast out numbering that happens far to often. or that many defenses are so unrealistically hard to defend (who builds a castle that is easier to get into than to defend? seriously?)=

Do I still think devs should not try to goat players into doing all content? YES definitely.
Do I expect them to make content constantly to cater for the- super fast to end gamer’s- Hell no.
I would like to see more incentive to make new characters to those that only play 1.
I would like to not have a billion players where ever I go- so that I might enjoy the pve content that already is there.

I get that mentality, but it is much more jarring and intimidating for a PvE only player to “pop into PvP” for a few rounds than it is for a PvPer to do a few PvE events. But neither of those SHOULD be a problem if ANet just made it so 12 to 15 dailies showed up on a regular basis. I’m thinking this issue was stealth fixed with one of the small updates recently (more likely this could be / was a server side fix that would require no update).

Because they already tried the other parts and don’t like them but are getting THEIR money’s worth out of the part(s) they enjoy.

I for one don’t find PvP all that fun in any game. WvW wasn’t as bad as I thought it was when I popped in to get 100% map exploration done, but it still isn’t something I would do on an even regular basis.

I’m not good enough as a player for WvW (or sPvP) and it’s not fun enough for me to put forth any serious effort into getting good enough.

But I love the PvE part. And I’ve gotten my $70 worth out of the game. If I never log back into the game, I won’t feel like I’ve wasted money.

Actually, no. Consistently trying to mix PvE and PvP game modes is certain to make both group unhappy. Let’s be honest, even most of players that do play both of those modes want to keep them separate. Those that play only one of those usually do that for a reason, and trying to override their decision can easily make them extremely irritated, or even very, very angry.

Especially because PvE-oriented players and PvPers, even if they play both modes, they play them for different reasons. Just look at the current PvP situation – there are lot of PvE players that went there because of reward tracks. They are interested primarily in advancing the track – winning or losing is a far second. Now, throw them in the same game as pure PvPers, that are interested primarily in winning, and you get a lot of people angry at each other.

It feels like I’m going in circles here, but I would just like to hear the justification for the change from ANet’s mouth, especially making it grindier was the exact opposite they told us they wanted last time they changed the dailies!

It seems like Anet’s policy is to just nerf nerf nerf any kind of rewards. They don’t want you getting achieve points. They don’t want you to farm anything, ever. They don’t want you in dungeons. They don’t want you to do world bosses. They want you to just do a little bit of everything, not enough to actually make any kind of gold (or any of their in-game currency for that matter.)

Sick and tired of Anet taking away the best parts of this game. I was going to buy all 3 harvesting tools from the gem store. Not now. Can’t farm T6 nodes any more cuz the stupid megaserver system makes you have to spend hours hunting for them for each character. The AP getting nerfed, dungeon rewards nerfed, Champion rewards nerfed, megaserver bs – it’s all adding up. So no gem store purchases for me. Cuz i honestly don’t know how much longer i’ll even be playing this game.

Guys guys calm down. Why would they want to give us options about how we want to play the game?

Remember when they added daily pvp and monthly pvp so pvp players could do them? They were just joking, they didn’t ACTUALLY want you to have a choice.

Too many players made the mistake of choosing what they wanted to play so they decided to remove said options.

Kind of how they removed servers because some people made the mistake of not being on t1 servers to experience the awesomeness of overflows.

ANet just wants you to play the right way, in the right atmosphere.

Yes, you can do the daily in PvE. Because you have 6 items there. However, especially if you don’t have a few hours to spend, it forces you to a certain way of playing. As somebody above already responded to a post of mine, you could do the zerg train in Queensdale for 5 quick events (I’ll forget for a second how wrong even the suggestion even is, gamewise), and you could use skill scrolls for the skills daily (if you even have them). But what if you loathe zerg champion trains (and believe me, there are those people out there), and if you have all characters at 100% map completion and no scrolls handy? Especially if there’s a fractal or dungeon daily too, that limits the choices even more.

Before the update that screwed with this, you could skip a daily item and still get the daily reward. By simply playing the game the way you liked it and having fun. And isn’t that the entire purpose of games? Having fun and do whatever you feel like? This update just threw that out of the window and said: if you want the reward, you’ll play like we dictate. And suddenly it stops being fun and starts being work.

I’m guessing seeing the caps on dailies and monthlies that they must believe that players are gaming them to get achievement chests at to rabidly. It also forces PvP only players to mingle in the PvE world. PvE is the bread and butter of the game and Megaserver attempts to fill all zones at all times to fix the “rarely see anyone” perception. Forcing PvP players into it “helps” keep up appearances.

I also think there should be more choice for the dailies.I only really PvE and have a choice of 5 to do today one of which is the revive one. I haven’t seen a single dead body in about 3 hours.

This is probably a megaserver thing as there’s so many people doing that same one that if you do see a dead npc icon and head towards it, by the time you get to it someones already revived it.

Combined with the events daily players are also completing events that in the past haven’t been with the result of villages having svanir roaming around a dozen plus dead lionguard you could revive.

Ok it’s Saturday I have all day but I can’t see myself completing that today at this rate and the laurels are pretty rare and much needed. If there were 10 PvE dailies to choose from I could at least do another and possibly along the way I might find a few dead bodies to revive but at least I’d get the completion reward. It’s not looking good so far though.

I’m not a fan of their choice to reduce the amount of dailies we can choose from per category. I honestly don’t see why they couldn’t have kept the same amount, but just combined them in the same window or something.

It doesn’t really affect me, as I do both PvE and WvW regularly and don’t mind stepping into WvW to finish a set of dailies, but it does make it more time-consuming than dailies used to be. I think people who only do PvP or only do PvE should be able to stick to those, and not be forced to dabble in an area of the game they don’t enjoy.

For Daily Reviver, I usually head to Muridian Waypoint in Metrica Province and go into the building where Fire Ele spawns. There’s always dozens of dead NPCs there, and they die often. Much better than the hunting lodge IMO.

Now I don’t have to do Krytan killer, Shiverpeak veterans and Maguma events running through whole world and then jump into a fractal and dungeon story. Seriously, if you know anything about the game and it’s world you can do daily in not more than 30 minutes now. And if you don’t want to touch PvP or WvW you don’t have to, really.
Besides, before the patch some things done in PvP didn’t count towards PvE daily, like for example recycler, dodger, reviver, interrupter, condition applier/remover. Now they do, so there’s always a way to do the daily without touching that parts of the game you don’t like.

Regarding daily reviver: I find it very ironic that we’ve discovered a common MMO problem – stealing someone else’s “property” … not kills, or nodes … but rezzes! Nodes are shared, but there are so many people with the Megaserver in the reactor that you simply can’t rez the NPC’s in time. It’s very frustrating and funny at the same time. People are competing for dead Asura bodies.

When I rez, I always look around if someone wants it too and wait until they get to the same NPC. Try doing the same (or leave the kitten reactor altogether).

In my opinion, ANet’s reaction to those like you went a bit too far.

The cap on AP from Dailies and Monthlies would have been fine on it’s own. No one would have complained about that. It’s the reduction of choice that goes against one of their selling points (play how you want) that’s got players upset and rightfully so.

Hopefully, they’ll increase the options for all play modes in a future patch.

Players shouldn’t have to consistently have to do things outside of how they want to play to get the Daily. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with the rare day when the Daily pushes you to do something you normally don’t like to do.

Doing dailies used to be something like this: ‘’Oh nice I can do things I love/like in this game and get daily chest’’

Now it’s: ‘’Oh maybe I get lucky and today from 10 choices 5 are something that I can complete without having to do something that get’s me irritated and into bad mood be it PvE if I’m more PvP player and don’t like killing 50 rabbits in some random zone or PvP if I’m more PvE player and just get killed by PvP elites’’

What is the logic behind this – ‘forcing’ a player to do every aspect of game – .

What is greater thing in MMO than freedom of choice? Can some Anet fanboy/zealot explain it to me what’s greater thing to do than choose what you want to do and get rewarded from that.

True, which is why i have separated what you have and need to do. With the AP cap you don’t need to do every daily there is, they will cap out all the same. I on the other hand need to do the daily achievements i am given (even if i don’t like them) if i want my laurel. Going with my option (more choices) doesn’t hurt you at all. Going with your options (less choices) does hurt me. See the difference?

More choice = good for PvE and PvP players. Less choice = feeling forced into doing things to get a laurel = bad.

Everything was working well for most involved before this change.

Only 10 Daily Achivements?

Simply put: i have about 3 other games I’ve yet to play, and about 3 others that I like to go back and re-play.

Between things like this, the Trait changes, and a few more of the things in the update I find myself looking to those others games to spend what little time i get to relax in the evenings. GW2 is getting harder to stay with if these changes persist, which is sad because I don’t want to be one of those people that walks away from the game because of unnecessary changes to the gameplay made to suit a completely new and different player base.

How about anet give us 15-20 achievments to chose from but the max number of achievment points we can get is 10 per day? This way the number of achievment points is limited to 10 per day(anet objective, I think) and in the same time players will stop complaining that they can’t chose what to do.

It’s not just the reduction of choices for dailies that concerns me, it’s the reduction of variety too.

Having Condition Applier / Remover / Dodger / Reviver on a four-day loop seems strange to me. They are just not that interesting to be so frequent.

Is Mystic Forgesmith coming back? Is Ambient Killer? A whole bunch of different dailies from before are now rare or missing. It makes doing dailies now seem a bit repetitive and boring.

And I really miss the Daily Activity Participation. I did an activity every day before April 15th, and I enjoyed doing them, but I’ve hardly done any since then, and it seems weird to say this but without the 1 AP maybe they don’t really seem worthwhile to do anymore.

I’m the same way. I used to love going into Activity participation cuz I knew it was worth it for that one extra achieve point. And i started getting pretty good at several of them.

Now? Totally not worth it without the achieve point. The chest reward is so lame it’s not even funny.

Activities are actually a decent source of karma. They normally take about 5 – 6 mins, and you get between 600 – 1000 karma (if you’re good). That’s a pretty good return if you’re farming for karma and don’t like joining the karma train in EotM.

Personally I’m playing the Activities for the achievements, as well as the karma. I’ve already completed all of the Sanctum Sprint ones, and am closing in on the last Crab Toss (40 more wins!) and Southsun Survival (200 more games played) ones. The only one that will still take me ages to complete is Keg Brawl. >.<

I think mystic forgesmith did roll round, havent seen ambient yet.

I also dont bother with activity anymore, was nice to know could always count that towards the daily.
