A few days ago I gave him 7g. He is still 7g away from Bolt. Even sent him a whisper of congrats, now he can make his bolt. Did not even get a thank you. I have also sent mats to a person I did not know for their Ascended Pistols with a payback promise. Like Wimpy Burger from Popeye: I’ll gladly repay you Tuesday for a hamburger today. Well we all know how that went. I now have sucker on my chest and a kick me sign on my back. Was just trying to ne nice!! They just mess it up for those who honestly need a little help.

i actually got new account for NA and went to pvp…. then i realized i can’t buy weapons i need for pvp because each is 1 silver something and i had like 20 coppers D8

some nice guy actually gave me 5 silver, i got quite some gold after few matches and paid him back when i was allowed to send mails (new account limitation~)

Actually you may have done a service. There is now the ability for those in Map with him to say “Becca gave you 7 gold a few days ago when you said you just needed 7 gold for Bolt. What did you spend her gold on?” And then other people in chat will know he’s scamming.

Not only that, but perhaps ANet can track that transaction, see it in conjunction with his previous “only 7 gold” comments, and determine that he is lying to get money. If they consider it actionable, he can be actioned on

And if he gets banned and decides to spend 50 bucks getting a new account so he can do the same thing, his AP will be so low that anyone checking will see he hasn’t had time to get that close to buying Bolt.

Well I hope so!! Even if he does not get banned, maybe others will not help him pay for his “Bolt” 7g at a time.

People like this are the reason I never “donate” anything to anyone in a video game. If you want to help someone out, donate rl money to a charity you trust.

Oh dont even do that donate food to a person you see on the street, you never know how much of the money you donate really go to the people that need help .
Even if food/clothes get sent to a country, whats to say some military guys dont show up with trucks and force the aid workers to load up all the food and clothes so they can eat the first and sell the second.

common sense has unfortunately become a choice in the 21st century, which is a step down imo. block him and advise others do as well. if customer support doesnt do anything tho, it screws all of us anyways. not even sure why you’d call it customer support but oh well.

One thing I do regularly is send 12slot bags to new players, and simply ask them to pass them on to other new players when they obtain larger ones. Im hoping I can start a chain of kindness and respect.

I sent this 7g til Bolt guy 1G. I didn’t get a thanks, but sometimes people i mail bags to don’t thank me, so that’s all good. Then when he was on again I noticed from my friends list how few Achievement points he has. As I watched, I saw his location change to different maps all over the place.

People like that make me sick.

Bolt is ugly anyways, I wouldn’t give him anything if he plans to emerge with that horror in hand.

Nothing bannable here. Maybe a warning for spamming if he/she keeps flooding the chat with the message. But hey, if you are giving this person gold in-game, I’m gonna scream the same. ;-)

Here’s another person asking for money – and I’ve seen this phrase used twice or three times now. I reported the first guy and blocked them, but they clearly keep doing it and are getting away with it, being as this is the exact same phrase said blocked person used, so I’ve given up reporting them.

But just to let others know, there’s also people going around asking for 94 silver for an exotic item. Screeny attached. So if it isn’t the guy hinting for 7g for their legendary, it’s 94s for their exotic.

I find it useful, if you see a message like that to just post after it in map chat “not this old scam again”. I’ve not bothered reporting the person saying it so far, I figure it’s more valuable to educate the map.
