The thing is… those dungeon tokens that you get for doing the dungeon are for level 80 items only, so yeah…. It’s a shame there are no low level dungeons for new players, but yeah… your best bet is to level to 80 then start doing dungeons.

People just don’t want to carry other people who aren’t holding their own weight. The difference between a level 35 and a level 80 in exotics is huge… even AC.

Ill be totally honest with you.

I cannot stand when someone joins and they aren’t a level 80. This game is designed to run dungeons purely at level 80, even the lower leveled dungeons. In the past i used to allow it but they are such a nuisance, and the dungeon almost always fails because of them.

I usually kick and block players who even attempt to stay in a party that are low leveled. Especially when they join quick runs/experienced runs. I hope I’ve blocked OP

Considering the fact that I completed every dungeon while on characters that were the recommended level, I must disagree that you almost always fail because of non-80s. That’s just bad playing. I and 4 of my guildies can grab level kitten, 65 whatever the recommended level is for that dungeon and clear it without issue. That I can assure you. It is certainly easier on an 80, but we’re talking about going from intended difficulty (like what they recommend) to ROFL easy on a geared 80. Again, this is assuming players are competent and geared with the best they can get for that level.

It sounds like you prefer easy content over slightly less easy content.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

I’m gonna have to agree. The only dungeon we failed in this entire week was the new TA because no one knew it and the mechanics are challenging to learn. We had 80’s, not 80’s, newbies, experienced players, players still learning dungeons, zerkers, not zerkers, etc….

If you prefer a speedrun, other quoted player, that’s cool, just specify it and the lower levels who can read and know how to play will avoid you and likely block you. I know I will just on principle.

Well, people who are farming for tokens and/or gold rewards look for one thing: efficiency. Having a low level surely will slow things down: either they messed up a procedure, getting down constantly, or the dps just don’t add up etc… I have my share of experience of both sides: embarrassingly slowing my group down in my low lvl days and having newbies in my group that added another 10-15 mins to the trip. And no, I don’t feel any sympathy to OP.
It is their group, they are entitled to all rights there is to dictate member requirements to achieve the expected efficiency. You can make your own group, or search for group that are more accepting. No hard feeling getting kicked here. Clearly, you are trying to get a quick level at the expense of the entire group (i.e. other 80s gotta back you up or take more responsibility than they normally wouldn’t have). I got kicked in my noob days, but no hard feeling. I just either made my own group or lfg and indicated my lvl. Each dungeons, either the AC, are scaled in a way that even a fully equipped lvl 80 can be downed against certain trash mobs. What made you think a lvl 35 will sustain. Just lvl to 80 and start doing dungeon. Shortcuts are bounded to have certain hardships. You gotta pay attention to how you would affect other people too, not just how they victimized you. They might kick or accept low level, their group, their right, but it not in your position to complain.

As long as its clearly stated what the group is looking for they should have the right to choose who they accept. After all the tool is called “looking for a group” not “looking for whoever decides to join first”. Its not elitism, its the right to choose.

Level 80=/=skilled.

When I first joined, I was pushed relentlessly by my first guild to get to level 80 ASAP before they’d even do a single event with me – including dungeons. So I leveled alone and I didn’t go through learning how to use my skills and traits to survive or benefit a party because I wasn’t ever in one. I was told all dungeons were for level 80 only and if I was below 80, I was holding back the group.

Sooooo… get a different guild? It wasn’t until my third guild here did I find a guild that did things proper.

The first was like that, though I was already leveled when I joined, but that’s how they treated lower level players and even so – they constantly wiped, it was painful to play with them. Second guild seemed to be more solo people just using a chat channel, the leader was hardly ever there (playing WoW) and the only active officer did all our guild missions with her other guild during the middle of the night when none of us were on – burning up all our contributions to do it. Leader wouldn’t do jack about it, didn’t effect his night elf mohawk. The third, maybe 20 people on at peak on a good day, lots of variety, usually do something every day (leaders there or not), we have most guild missions unlocked (any can start), everybody has something to do regardless of class or level.

If you have problems with your guild, well you can have five, ya know? The other two of course I dumped outright.

I did

I quoted it as an example of level 80 doesn’t always mean skilled and a level 80 can hold you back just as badly as a lower level if all they’ve done is grind to level 80 so some elitist won’t kick them out of a dungeon group.

Maybe in some cases, but generally someone under 40 it’s just a given that they are going to make it harder on a lvl80 group in AC (or not even all 80). Not even speaking of pro speed runners in zerker, just casual lvl80 groups that haven’t speed ran an AC path 100’s of times and don’t plan to, and still humanly bound by time. Sure, 60’s-70’s, but the thread is more questioning why lvl80 players wont help lvl 35 players power level in AC as if it’s some requirement in this game hehehe – and if they don’t, obviously they are just kitten-kitten-kittened elitists.

I´ll admit to having kicked a lvl 11 joining for AC.
I´ll also admit that one of the best and fastest AC runs I have had recently, was with a mixed group where 3 of the other players were between lvl 35 -48.

As someone else mentioned, I guess it is all about finding likeminded people.

I never had any issues with people wanting to do speed runs or lvl 80 runs.
If I am playing an alt below lvl 80, and I can’t find a group without level 80 restriction, then I just create one myself.

If someone has trouble finding a suitable group, then I would suggest doing the same.

Well expecting anyone not in your guild to help you power level is silly. You join a guild so you can have guildies to aid you with stuff like that

Well yeah, it can be silly in a guild but more so silly in a PUG. But it happens in guilds, in various games, such as I’ll have a higher player character to PL someone and then they too have one to do the same for me, my low lvl alt, or will at some time for a payback later.

The big draw to dungeons here is (or was?) lower level players getting huge XP to level up. I’m not sure if they changed that, it’s been some time since I went into a dungeon with anyone under 80. But it’s no secret that low level players look to dungeons for the XP, and it makes no difference if it’s a guild or a PUG. Though a PUG is in more danger of failure compared to guilds that run dungeons together a lot, dungeons can be a breeze with less than five in the group even.

The stats between an 80 and a lvl 35 in AC really isn’t that much
My 80 in exotic/ascended is downscaled to

Power: 677
Precision: 484
Toughness: 256
Vitality: 312

while a lvl 35 in green gear with the strong prefix would have

Power: 589
Precision: 412
Toughness: 232
Vitality: 282

and that isn’t including any stats from upgrade slots or if they are wearing rares instead of greens

The issue is that maybe 1% of lvl 35s will actually have lvl 35 everything with srong prefix (armor, accessories, weapons, sigils, runes, etc)

More likely they have mix-matched stats, little to no sigils, a range of 25-35 blue/green, not using food or dungeon potions.

Also, regardless of how well somebody decks out their 35, they still have 45 less trait points than 80s.

The issue here is the traits actually make a huge difference.

Having said that, always happen to guide new players.
