I remember reading somewhere, somewhen, that there was supposed to be, or was planned to be, a descendent of Nick for weekly collections.

Am I mistaken? Or is it an ‘in the pipeline thing’?

I thought a grand, grand, grand, etc daughter it was….

That would be so cool, I always did my traveler gifts

Quality of Life that would keep players doing the content without getting dull?

This was a mention long, long ago by John Hargrove who has long since left ArenaNet. It was merely a “maybe we’ll add this” without any form of definitiveness.

We do, instead, have Horas the Traveler who sits next to a trusty dolyak. But he is naught but a mere nod to Nick.

I do find it odd they didn’t include something like this, it was such a popular thing in the original. Love to see it return in some form.

There is a child in Fireheart Rise that appears to be talking about a descendant of his but unfortunately he, as a merchant, was never put in the game and I don’t expect he ever will.

“Over here. Don’t let the grawl see you.”
“What’s going on?”
“My friend Nick said if I brought him some grawl necklaces, he’d trade me for a gift. He said these kinds of scavenger hunts are an old family tradition for him.”
“How many have you got so far?”
“None. I’m not even sure they have grawl necklaces here. But I’m not giving up until I get at least five, no matter how long it takes.”

Ah. That’s a shame.
