Fairness is important.

It is socially unacceptable to invite 20 guests to a dinner party and single a few of them out to be served their main course on a saucer.

All players were invited to the Lost Shore event, as they were to the Labyrinth; if required, boosted to level 80, therefore doing damage as a level 80, rezzing as well as anyone else.

But, low level character players are clearly considered unfit to receive a fair reward, they were segregated to receive low level, low value rewards.

Low level rewards, if useable, will only be so for a few levels and are worth next to nothing on the TP, Whereas a level 80 item will be significantly more useable and if not, highly likely to generate a few gold on the TP.

I feel great sympathy for those that could not take part in the Lost Shore event, or in the last instant were unable to reach the end chest . I do not feel envious of those who were given precursors. I am simply mildly disgusted with the unfair way low level players are being treated by Arenanet in this type of event.

All players should be treated fairly.

Keep in mind my criticism of the way the game is run is concerned with fairness at a player level. I do not care about the value of a reward, only that it is a fair reward.

I have posted this here as it concerns all events.

Holy Cow, I didn’t even know that players were being boosted up to level 80 for the event. I asked in game if the event was for everyone, or just for higher level players, and everybody, which was a dozen or so, said that it was for level 80s, so I didn’t even bother with the event since my character was so low level. I could have done this event the whole time

Don’t care about the reward, would have been fun to be a part of the event though.

This annoys me. Its been this way since open beta. These are the game mechanics of the game. Everyone knows this is how its always worked. Learn to play the game. Nothing is new here.

Life is not fair. you are not special. learn to play the game.

Awards being level appropriate is fair. You get something you can use or sell, and max level, highly desirable items still retain their value. What would have happened to the prices of lvl 80 exotics if two million people suddenly got two apiece at the same time?

The only thing that could potentially make it more fair, would be if they made sure chest loot was usable by the character that looted it. If I only have a lvl 55 Mesmer and lvl 80 Guardian and Thief, then a lvl 55 rare rifle or piece of medium armor is pretty useless. It can’t event be salvaged for ecto and would only fetch a few silver from TP.

But if that happened then the TP in general would probably dry up of anything below lvl 80 since everyone was getting stuff they could use. Only undesirable weapons and stat combinations would ever be posted.

So in short…awards are fine. They are as they should be for other things to keep working. You have something else to look forward to at 80 now.

Did the event on my level 20 alt after deciding I’d rather be getting exp whilst doing the event.

Was very happy with my accessory and 20 slot bag, but was retrospectively wishing I had come on my Thief or Guardian (both 80).

But never mind, will bear that in mind next time ^^,
