Am I the only one wishing there was a simple box to tick under ‘options’ to ‘hide headgear’ (or ‘hide helm’)?

If headgear is absolutely mandatory apparel for stats sake, then wouldn’t it seem like a helpful option to include? I know of at least one other major MMO that recognizes the hideousness of headgear and provides that option for players.

I’ve not seen any headgear (yet) that enhanced the appearance of an otherwise great looking gear set – they all seem to make characters look a bit daft, if not clownish.

Either that, or perhaps remove the face and hair appearance options in the character creation screen, because after spending the time and effort to create a character, the majority of headgear one then encounters either hides faces entirely, or makes them look grotesque, so it would seem like a disheartening waste of time and effort.

Or is it just me?

Hit H, click the box that says “Hide Head Slot” located on your helm slot, done.

I thought there was an option for this. Or did I misread what you want?

Not only can you already hide your headgear, you can hide your gloves and back-pieces, as well! =)

It’s the little square at the top of the icon for headgear, gloves and backpieces. Click and unclick to hide or display.

Weird that you didn’t examine hero panel better, before coming here.

Since such checkboxes/option tabs are always located in panel where you can look at your gear that is equipped on your character…

Sorry FrostSpectre, but the option others have described isn’t appearing for me – I did search extensively before posting, though.

I only show head gear on one of my characters and hide it on all the rest

You are not wearing a helm, it appears that your hair style is your headgear. If you want to change it, you can either delete you char or buy the total makeover kit which is less than 5 dollars.

And now the box has suddenly appeared – after putting the helm on and off a few times O.o

That headgear is part of your hairstyle, which unfortunately can’t be removed.

Thats a hairstyle from the Twilight Assault patch exclusive to the Self-Style Hair Kit / Total Makeover Kit

I see the problem. You don’t have a helm actually equipped so you can’t see the option. The beaded headdress thing is part of your character customization jewelry. You chose this when you created the character. In order to alter that you will need a makeover kit.

Yes it is there. Equip your headgear and find the checkbox in the slot.

You can do the same for shoulders and gloves, too.

Ha! Why did you pick a hairstyle you consider to be “hideous”?

@Naoz Kaho…I don’t think it’s part of the hairstyle, because it can actually be ‘hidden’, as previous replies have pointed out – the box just wasn’t displaying for me initially, but it is now.

You chose a hairstyle that has some “metal” on it…that is your hairstyle,when you equip a helm than the little box will apear to hide the equiped helm and see your hair..

In your screenshot you are definitely not wearing a helm, that’s your hair.

The hide feature doesnt show up if you arent wearing a helm. When you dont have a checkbox it means you arent wearing a helm and there is nothing to hide.

that is not a hairstyle available in character creation though, it is only available in the hair kit

No, the ‘hairstyle’ is fine, the check box wasn’t displaying whether I had the helm on or not…but after equipping and then removing it a few times, it suddenly displayed.
